Ta'liyah

I began to near my destination. I noticed Tsireya standing outside of her family Marui in a stealthy position. She was clearly eavesdropping in on the hushed fuss going on inside. I speculated that Ao'nung was probably still being lectured by his parents.

Most of it definitely being spoken by Ronal, I couldn't help the giggle that escaped me.

Tsireya caught onto my presence, immediately standing herself up. I gestured with my hands that she needn't worry. Surprisingly, her posture seemed to only crease more. She hurriedly walked to meet me halfway.

Tsireya was beautiful. Although, almost 2 years younger than I, we were of the same height. I considered her as one of my most dearest friends unlike those other Na'vi that I was just simply on good terms with. I always did my best to be there for her as she was for me.

"Oh my, 'Liyah.." She spoke softly, her eyes lighting up as she skimmed over my form. "You look so pretty!" She sang in a hushed voice.

"Awhh, thank you 'Reya," I embraced the girl into a heartfelt hug, "You're also as cute as ever." Her eyes met mine, I quickly asked, "So.. how long have they been going at it?"

Tsireya gave an apologetic look, "Since father had taken him home," I widen my eyes at her statement, it had been more than a few hours since then.

"Oh no," I gasp, "Have you eaten?" I asked, worriedly. I knew the girl had a slight shy nature, just as I and knowing her.. she'd probably been outside this whole time waiting for the feud to end.

The girl answered with a shake of her head. I frowned, lightly grabbing her hand so she could follow along as I led us both towards her Marui.

"'Liyah," Tsireya gasped, "I don't think now is a good time."

"Oh please, I don't want Ao'nung's idiotic decisions affecting your precious hunger." I dragged the both of us towards her Marui. My ears began to register what was being said.

"Why do you act so irrational?" I halted in my steps hearing Renal's harsh tone, maybe Tsireya was right.. The both of us could dive for some food instead.

"This is Ta'liyah we are speaking of! You act as if it's some stranger." At my name being fiercely voiced from Renal I stiffened.

"And if I will not go through with this?" Ao'nung? Challenging his own Mother?

"I've done everything you've asked of me to do. All my life I've remained constantly building my own reputation as heir of the Metkayina." I frowned at his statement, knowing it was true.

As the only son of the clan's leaders, he was pressured to meet his parents' and the clan's high expectations

"And you will continue to do so."

"No," Ao'nung angrily spoke out again, "Not this time. This is the one thing I will not accept to do for you Mother, or for anyone else at that matter." An obvious hit to his silent Father.

"Ao'nung!" I hear Renal hiss, "You will do as tasked whether you like it or not." Before Ao'nung could speak up again, "Do not fight me on this."

"Please, just listen to me-" He began, but was cut by his mothers voice.

"You are to be arranged to mate with Tumai and Anahera's gifted daughter and that's final."

At the blunt statement and realization of the issue I fell to my knees, unable to contain the sudden mental disturbance.

Tsireya was quickly by my side. I placed my hands over my each my mouth and heart, I dare not allow a sound escape me.

"Are you even listening? I won't marry her-" Ao'nung seethed, his voice stern. "I don't want to marry her-" The boys voice was now cut off by his father.

But none of it registered to me, it was just all becoming a blur.

My eyes began to burn, everything around me felt as though it was falling apart. I numbly accepted Tsireya's help to aid me up and before I could hear what she'd tried to say I dove within the sea, allowing it to engulf me.

Javi, my very own beloved Ilu had made his way quickly to my side, allowing me to mount him. Although, we weren't bonded he seemed able to understand me as he quickly sped away.

"You are both not listening to me," Ao'nung spoke, frustrated. "I won't marry Tali, not like this." Scowling, he took a deep breath. He was on the edge of confessing the feelings that he himself had so desperately tried to suppress.

"Not solely because you've both asked of me to." Ao'nung bit the inside of his cheek.

"What are you saying boy?" Renal uttered. Tonowari had also stood from his position.

"I.. I will  but not like this." He took a steadying breath, "I.. don't want it to be based solely because you've asked-" Before Ao'nung could explain any further Tsireya came bursting inside the Marui.

Her glossy eyes were pricked with tears, "Ao'nung!" She angrily trembled. "Have you lost your mind?" At the timid girls sudden outburst the family stood surprised.

"Huh?" Her brother spoke in annoyance, he was in no mood for any of this. His little sister stomped her way towards him, harshly poking him in the chest.

"She heard it all," Tsireya breathed, "Everything you've said."

Ao'nung's eyes widened, "Where is she?" Immediately preparing to leave, signally for his Ilu.

"With Javi, moving east." Tsireya answered almost hesitantly, not having a clue on what her big brother was going to do.

Despite his parents protests Ao'nung quickly dove himself into the oceans waters, swiftly bonding with his Ilu and taking off.
