He hadn't slept. However, this time, it's not because he wouldn't. He couldn't.

His body was thrumming with enthused anticipation.

He was fucking ecstatic.

Him and Tali had spent the rest of yesterday together, talking about everything & nothing. Uncaring of the fierce weather until it eventually drifted past. Revealing the melting sun.

He had walked her home, despite his urges to convince her to stay out with him.

Ao'nung thought that there was nothing more he hated than the inevitable sunset. But here came the term miscommunication; two years is a long fucking time.

The very second the sun had peaked across the horizon he set off towards her.

"You're up!" His loud voice beamed, dismounting his Ilu as he grasped the netted flooring.

Ta'liyah looked outside her Marui to see Ao'nung easily climbing himself up.

"Ao'nung—" Ta'liyah gasps with a surprise look.

He places a finger over his lips as a hush gesture. Peeking his head inside, he looks left and then right.

It's clear and he grins.

He walks right over to her, his arms swing around her figure but he doesn't stop walking. Making her step back, more and more, until her back gradually met the wall and it causing her to drop the garment she'd had in her hand.

"Wha—" She's taken aback by the boys ecstatic behavior but she can't bring herself to stop him because she also feels the same.

"Shh.." He murmurs, laying his chin on top of the crown of her skull with closed eyes. He takes a moment before gazing down on her. His warm expression turns serious and wary. "You're here?" His voice is tense with hesitance, "You're real?"

Ta'liyah meets his expression and places a hand on the back of his head to bring him down so they're eye levels match. "I'm here, Ao'nung."

He grins, grabbing her face with both hands, Ta'liyah places her hands over them. They stare at each other, taking in the others' features like divine art.

Ta'liyah smiles before she leans in with closed eyes, placing her forehead on his and he follows along. Their noses brushing as they share breath. He fights the urge to pull her in even closer.

She slowly draws his hands away from her face. "They'll be here soon.." She whispers out, biting her lip to keep herself from giggling at his sulking expression.

He groaned out loud. "Can't we just ditch them?" He suggests, lifting his head up to gaze back down on her. "..I want you all to myself." He mumbles, his carelessness about everything seeping in.

Ta'liyah thinks the older teen is only joking but his expecting silence causes her to blink and rethink. "..No."

"You thought about it."

Ta'liyah purses her lips, a light flush spreaded across her features causing him to smirk, "We're not ditching them." She hastily concludes.

"Alright.." He leans back with a defeated sigh, "But you've gotta promise me that once we're done you're hanging with me." He gives her a lopsided grin which causes her heart to pace.

"So clingy.." She teasingly chastises, lightly pushing him away.

She makes her way towards her mothers' miracle healing salves, taking one. Turning around and he's right behind her, the garment she'd dropped in an offering hand.
