The wind blew harshly as he stepped over the railing. Cars rushing past him, he shivered. The air was cold. It stung the back of his throat as he let out quite sobs.

Facing out to the water he took a deep breath.

This would be the end of him and he was okay with it. He could hear the rushing waters below him ready to sweep him away with all of his regret. He leaned his head back and prepared himself.

He let go of one hand then the other inching his way to the edge. He turned his back to the water and let himself go limp. In that moment his heart skipped a few beats. He was falling. For only a second, but now he wasn't. A firm grasp on his wrist prevented him from falling any further.

"George?" A broken voice asked from the other side of the railing. Pulling him closer and back up to solid ground, away from the water. He hugged George so tightly George felt he couldn't breathe.

George simply let it happen. He didn't speak. He closed his eyes and stayed quite. Tears slowly dripped down his face as this man who saved him held him.

Stood on the sidewalk of the bridge as traffic continued to rush behind them the man let go of the brunette. As he released his grip George fell to his knees.

"Dream-" George sobbed out as he finally got a good look at his best friends face. Dream fell to his knees after him and held him tightly.

"Shh it's okay. I promise it's all gonna be okay." Dream comforted the other. "Let's go home, okay?"

George nodded slightly as Dream helped him to his feet. Dream and George walked side by side in silence listening to the cars rush past them. Dream grasped onto George's arm tightly to prevent him from jumping in either direction out of impulse.

They made it back to Dreams car and George laid down in the back seat. Dream started the car and turned around to check on the other.

George laid on his side letting tears roll from his eyes down to the tip of his nose and down onto the leather seats of the car.

"George.. do you wanna talk about it?" Dream asked lightly as he readjusted the mirror so he could clearly see the brunette in the back seat.

George shook his head. "Please just turn on the radio." He spoke in a shaky voice as Dream reached for the dial. The soft sounds of music played through the car. The music was turned down to the volume level of about 7. It was very quiet but it somewhat put the brunette at peace.

Time passed, song after song, melody after melody. The car slowly turns into the driveway of their house. Dream puts the car in park and pulls the keys out. He takes one more glance at George in the review mirror before stepping out of the car. The lights inside of the car turn on as his door opens.

He opens the side door and helps George out. With a shift motion he picks George up and carries him inside.

This certainly wasn't the first time George had tried to kill himself and it probably wouldn't be the last, but all Dream knew was - he needed to be there for the boy and to give him all the support and love he needs.

Dream sets George on the couch. He turned on a few lights in the kitchen and looked through the almost bare fridge for anything to feed the other. He found a bagel in the pantry and put the two halves into the toaster. Once they were done he grabbed a plate and put some cream cheese on the two half's.

Dream slowly walked over to George and set the plate down in front of him. George had been staring off at a wall the entire time but turned his attention to Dream as this happened. George sat up and reached for one of the bagel half's. Dream took a seat right next to George and hugged him.

Dream had been crying the entire night. As he drove to where he knew George was, he was crying, as he saved him, he was crying, and now sitting with him safely in his arms, he was still crying. It was Unnoticed by the brunette but you couldn't really blame him.

He slowly finished half the bagel as he rested his head against Dreams shoulder.

"What the fuck is going on guys..?" Sapnap slowly walked down the stairs while rubbing his eyes and both men glanced over to him. Sapnaps voice was raspy and tired as he spoke. Dream put his finger over his own mouth asking him to be quite. Dream stood from the couch and picked George up yet again. He slowly walked him up the stairs and to his bed room. Dream laid George down and pulled the sheets over his body.

"Go to sleep. Call me if you need anything." Dream said and slowly left George's room. Dream rushed down the stairs to find Nick in the living room sitting on the couch where George had been.

"... did he..." Nick muttered and Dream nodded. They both knew what he was referring to no matter how much it shattered both of their hearts. "How?"

"He was at the Bridge again." Dream took a deep breath in trying to compose himself. "Nick.. you don't understand I- I almost didn't get there in time. I was too slow he could've died." More tears fell from Dreams eyes as he sat next to Sapnap on the couch. Sapnap put his arms around dreams shoulders, allowing the blonde to lay his head down onto sapnaps.

"It's okay. He's okay. Please just take some deep breaths." Sapnap encouraged Dream.

"My heart burns." Dream said blankly though his tears. He gritted his teeth in attempts to not make any sounds.

"You should go lay down in your bed to calm down. Do you want some of your meds?" Nick recommend and Dream shook his head.

"No it will be fine I'll calm down on my own." Dream stood from the couch and whipped his eyes despite the fact he was still crying. Dream made his way to his room and Sapnap waited in the living room for a few moments thinking. Everything felt like a disaster and it was almost impossible for him to pinpoint a solution. Eventually he made his way up the stairs into his own bedroom.

Dream laid in his bed for about 2 minutes just starring at the ceiling. Rubbing his eyes as he sat up in bed, throwing his legs over the side and standing up. He walked to his door and attempted to open it as quietly as possible. He walked down the hall and knocked on George's door. He didn't wait for a response and opened the door.

In the faint light coming from the window Dream saw George asleep in his bed. Dream walked into the room and closed the door behind himself as quietly as he could.

"George.." he whispered and the other boy turned in his sleep. "George," he spoke a little louder and the brunettes eyes opened slowly.

"Dream..?" George asked.

"Can I stay in here with you?" Dream said, hesitating briefly before asking.

"Yeah go ahead.." George mumbled.

Dream smiled and climbed into bed next to the other. He wrapped his arms around the boy and closed his eyes. Tears once again rolled down Dreams face.

George slowly wrapped his arms around Dreams torso and closed his eyes before he drifted back off the sleep.

Dream laid awake with his eyes closed smiling as he took deep breaths. Knowing the other was safe next to him comforted him. Dream took in shaky breaths but with every one they slowed and calmed before he slipped into sleep.

Both boys laid embracing each other. In friendly love they were together.

The brunettes head rested on the blondes chest while his breathing leveled out and became a constant. The warmth of the room around them was soothing. The blankets sprawled in every which way but they just laid sleeping.

Sleeping in each others arms feeling completely out of harms way. Protected from any of life's dangers, a safe haven from the risky world they live in. Just the presence of the other was enough to farm nerves.

The connection between the two men was not one of glass but one of brick, cement, and rebar. The way they fit with each other made both of them feel complete.

In the moment everything felt okay.
