Nia woke with a start, her heart racing and palms sweating she frantically looked around. The remnants of her dream quickly faded away as she took in her surroundings.

She was leaning against a tree in a forest surrounded by several people who looked around her age or younger. I fell asleep standing up? That's kinda impressive for me. Nia turned her attention to the woman on stage who looked like a five year old went to town on her face with crayola markers.

-And for the female tribute," the woman paused to draw a name out of a giant fish bowl. Oh gee I wonder who it could possibly be? Nia rolled her eyes and started making her way to the front.
    "Nia- Oh it seems she's an eager one"
    "Oh yea I'm jumping for joy at this opportunity" Nia muttered sarcastically with a fake smile, "Let's get this shit show on the road shall we?"

I can't believe I'm representing the lumber district,
whoever's writing this story needs to put in more effort, Nia thought to herself as she was herded onto a train. The red velvet seats and tables of food was a welcomed sight to the girl as her stomach audibly rumbled.
    "Hey I'm-
    "And I'm not interested" Nia dismissed the boy with a wave as she sat down to eat, "We're either gunna die or Im going to have to kill you- Or maybe even both, so there's really no point in getting to know each other."
I can't wait to see how this one turns out, the girl thought with a general sense of disdain. Can't catch a break out here.
