"Nia that's the fourth time you've left to go do secret spy stuff can't you just chill with us for a little" Lucy pouted and patted the seat next to her on the couch.
"Yea we're watching some stupid reality tv show Susan loves." Ed chimed in, "it's dumb but I'm invested now"
Nia hesitated at the door, "guys I wish I could but I have to go meet up with Finnick before I do Snow's daily task of horror"
A chorus of groans followed the girls response as she left the house.
"Enne, talk some sense into her, she's overworking herself" Susan said as she tucked herself into the corner of the adjacent couch.
"I've tried but she's worried about what Snow would do-
A quiet chime interrupted Enne's train of thought.
"Guys Pete's staying at Lau's tonight" Ed rolled his eyes, "god I hate that girl."
"She's...she has a nice hair colour" Lucy added trying to be nice.
"Who is Laurie again?" Enne asked while taking a handful of popcorn
"She's Peter's ex from our childhood. She basically talked her dad into talking to our dad into getting Peter to work with them. I don't know why Peter keeps doing this to himself" Susan sighed, "he can never tell when she's manipulating him even though it's so obvious"
Enne looked at her confused, "so what does she want now?"
"I think it has to do with getting her dad's ideas passed on the council? I'm not too sure tbh" Ed shrugged.
The group settled into silence as their focus returned to the woman throwing a chair at a man who cheated on her
"Get his ass!"

"Finn, I'm outside the building now. Gunna turn off comms just in case I get compromised, I'll let you know if I find anything"
"Be safe, if anything goes down press the button on the inside of your vest and it'll signal me and Haymitch"

With that Nia quietly shit off the communication device in her ear. She climbed the fire escape ladder to the building and slowly opened the window. Muffled voices could be heard behind the closed door. Nia put her ear to the door, "The initial stages have begun, soldiers have been stationed around the boarders of the peasant districts and we can trigger the device on my mark" a male voice could be heard.
What device??what the hell are they talking about?
"Are you sure it is ready to be put into action?"
"Hmm I suppose we could do another trial run, call Pevensie to set it up" the faint sound of chairs scraping made Nia back up slightly, "for now this meeting is concluded." Footsteps sounded throughout the room, some heading towards her. Nia quickly hid herself in a closet as the door swung open. The lights turned on.
"Mark, a word." Two older men stepped into the room, "Lau has been telling me many great things about Peter"
The man, Mark, who Nia assumed was Peter's dad, nodded.
"Yes it seems he isn't as soft as his mother tried to raise him to be" Nia rolled her eyes. The two men chuckled. "He has mentioned that you have a plan you'd like to pass"
"Ah yes, not so much a plan, more of an idea of sorts."
"Paul, get to the point will you"
"I think we should kill off the newest victors"
"That's what Peter said your plan was" Mark nodded slowly, "however you fail to realize that president Snow wouldn't approve of us meddling in whatever he has going on with them. Best we trust his judgement"
"Mark, trust me. As much as I have faith in Snow, those two girls could be a problem. Even my daughter Laurie could see it, it was her idea after all."
"My son has already told me as such, and has made several valid points against it. However because you're an old friend Paul, I'll consider it."
The two shook hands, the room fell into darkness as they left.
Nia made a quick escape from the building and rushed to the meeting spot her, Haymitch and Finnick set up.
"Woah woah woah slow down girlie" Haymitch muttered as the girl rushed to tell them everything she heard. She repeated the most important parts back, "They have some sort of device they need for their plan, they're planning to test it soon. Also Peters's girlfriend and her dad wants to kill me and Enne for no real reason."
"Well fuck" Haymitch sighed and chugged his drink,
"My sources say there will be a small meeting next Wednesday, I'm assuming that's the device testing they mentioned"
Finnick nodded, "I've heard similarly, also I heard someone on the council wants Snow gone"
"That's good right? The enemy of our enemy is our friend and whatnot?" Nia glanced up from her coffee
"Not in this case, this guy, whoever he is...I've heard he's worse."
"Well who is it?" Haymitch asked
"His name is Miraz"

"This sucks" Finnick groaned as he sat on the swing. Him and Nia decided to go to a park because they were too stressed and caffeinated to sleep.
"You're not the one living with someone who wants to kill you" Nia scoffed and pushed him on the swing.
"...yea alright you win that one"
Nia smiled slightly as Finnick looked up at her. He got up nd pushed her lightly to sit on the swing. He leaned down, grazing his nose against hers. Their eyes fell shut as their lips met.

"And...nothing! I felt nothing!!" Nia exclaimed to Enne, who was sitting on her bed, "He kissed me and it was like... missing something??"
Nia had got home and immediately grabbed her friend to have what they called a 'super secret victor talk'.
"Hmmm... that could mean nothing....-
"Or..." Nia prompted her friend to go on.
"It could mean everything-
"What!?"
"I'm just kidding... kindaaa. I don't know actually. At all."
"Ugh. Oh also we should probably move out Peter's dad might have us killed"
