Chapter 9

A few weeks later :-

Slow soft breeze is pushing past the thick leaves of the forest making its way into the open ground of Kingdom zeus . The breeze bringing the freshness with it alongside the mesmerizing , soft smell of roses from the garden nearby . Jungkook is sitting on the ground in front of three tombstones . The last memory of his beloved ones . Not even a single word is heard from him as he is quietly watching the wind readjusting the dry leaves on the muddy ground around the small garden of flowers he planted .

Jungkook planted a few flower plants around the graves of his beloved ones to make the place a little less terrifying to him . No , being by the side of graves is not terrifying but the feeling that accompanies it , is definitely . The feeling that tells him how big of a failure he is as a son and a younger brother and a prince . What was he doing , strolling around when his parents , his hyung and his kingdom was fighting against odds . Jungkook feels miserable by the thought .

Here you are , the voice brings him back from those dreadful thoughts as he hurriedly wipes off the tears that fell down from his eyes without his knowledge .

Jungkook , the voice turns worried as the said male sits beside him turning his face towards himself .

What , don't cry princess , yoongi says trying to console the little one who has his head hung low. 

I failed hyung , i failed to protect them , protect my kingdom , i failed as a human hyung , the words pierce through yoongi's soul once more . He has been hearing these defeated words from jungkook since that day but he gave him time thinking that his baby who is the owner of a fragile innocent heart will need time to get it over with but seems like his princess has got a deeper wound than he had measured of .

Shhh princess , it's ok . Let's get you back to your room , he holds him up and they walk back into the kingdom towards the palace . No , jungkook refused to go anywhere else other than his kingdom which is not so suitable to live now but say it was the grieve , the guilt or the urge to not leave behind the place that took everything from him that made him stay here or maybe it can be the thirst of revenge who knows .

Chief guard min , this is the invitation we received this morning , one of the same guards from that day says to yoongi who looks at the card which has the seal of Kingdom sella , he frowns .

Anyone got the idea of what happened here ? He asks and the guard shakes his head in denial .

Ah no . We received it at the main gate only , he says and yoongi nods before he gestures him to go . The guard leaves from there while looking at the emptiness of the palace and sighing to himself .

There are only 4 people left in the kingdom , the two bodyguards , yoongi and jungkook but jungkook still refused to move to any other place as if the guilt is eating him alive and he is unable to move away from the place that never stopped torturing him emotionally since day 1 of the incident .

He walks inside jungkook's room to inform him about the invitation .

Hey tae , what's with the sudden invitation ? Jimin asks as they are walking side by side in the forest again .

I don't know , Namjoon hyung said he wants to invite all the royals of  kingdoms for dinner so as to have some friendly connection with everyone , it's just casual , jimin hums . They all reach the river side and sit down .

Taehyung throws a pebble into the river and sighs . The two look at him with worry as hoseok slips a little closer to taehyung and rests his hand on his shoulder before asking ,

Is there anything bothering you tae ? Taehyung looks at hoseok and the other can clearly see the distress and sadness alongside the worry lingering in those siren eyes . Taehyung sighs , he needs to let it out before he goes insane with the feeling and the thought as he finally says ,

I don't know what has happened or what is happening but there is this constant uneasiness in my system that is not letting me be peaceful since we last met him , the two frown as taehyung shake his head , last time we met jungkook here in the forest , the two hum urging taehyung to continue , you see i can't pinpoint the feeling but it feels like i need to be with him , i need to protect him , he needs me , and ughhh , it's frustrating , he says as he looks down throwing Pebbles continuosly in the water .

Jimin and hoseok look at each other before looking at taehyung . Is there anything wrong with jungkook ? And is it what they are thinking ? No it shouldn't be . Taehyung shouldn't be feeling this connection , not when he is already someone else's fiance.

Have you checked upon him ? Hoseok asks to which taehyung looks up .

Of course i did but the guards said that the guard on the main gate refused to let him in saying that their king has ordered anyone to not come inside and deliver whatever it is to them only . I asked the guards and guards said that those two guards are the most trusted one of the kingdom so there is no way we can question their loyalty , hoseok hums .

He will be coming to the dinner right ? Why don't you just relax for now tae and make sure everything is ok by then , jimin says to which taehyung smiles a little .

I am waiting for the same jimin , the three hum and the silence engulf them . Two thinking about their best friend who is completely in dilemma and perhaps he will always be for the fact that he has grown fond of jungkook and the other one thinking about his uneasy thoughts and nothing else . He just can't pull his mind off of the baby boy he met at his engagement .

We have tomorrow's dinner invitation from the king kim namjoon of Kingdom sella , yoongi says entering jungkook's room who is busy writing something . He closes his book and looks at yoongi .

We are not going hyung , jungkook said but yoongi has his things planned and he needs jungkook to be there ,

Oh princess you don't want others to know what happened in our kingdom right ? Then you need to be there otherwise they will question , jungkook shakes his head .

Nope , they won't even notice our absence , yoongi rolls his eyes at the stubborn baby .

Oh com'on jungkook not everyone but prince taehyung will surely notice your absence , the mention makes jungkook sigh . He is right . He has befriended taehyung that day and he will definitely notice if he is not there so he needs to go .

Ok fine we will go , yoongi smiles and pats jungkook's head before he walks out .

It's time to bring his old princess jungkook back and he knows who can do that all too well .
