Ronni's POV:

When I got home mom drilled me with questions.

'How was school, did you meet new people, do you like your teachers, blah blah blah.'

I gave the generic answers.

'Yes school was fine, I like my teachers, it's hard to meet new people when everyone is yelling at each other.'

She seemed happy with my answers.

I ducked into my room to avoid more questions.

I tossed my bag onto my bed and flopped down next to it.

"Ronni honey! You better be doing your homework!" My mom shouted.

She knew I would listen to music or sleep right when I got home. So she always made sure she was loud enough to be heard.

"I doing it right now mom!" I yell back.

"Guess I have to do it now." I mumbled sitting up.

I sat down at my desk and pulled out my homework. I decided to start with history because everything Brooklyn thought me was fresh and she made me promise to review what we went over.

.........................................................................

I finished my homework just before dinner. I headed down and went to the kitchen.

"Hey sweetie, all down with homework?"

My mom asked.

"Yep. I finished early today."

My mom smiled proudly at me. I struggled with homework. My mom always said I needed a homework buddy but I always said I didn't need one.

"That's wonderful Ronni. I've very proud of you."

She gave me a hug and went back to cooking.

"Can I help?" I asked.

"Dinner is almost ready. You can set the table though."

I got to setting the table.

I heard my dad storm in.

"Uh oh. Something is very wrong." I whispered.
