Rosemary's P.O.V
The ride to wherever Gabriel is taking me was pretty quiet. I've noticed now how Gabriel knows exactly what kind of music I like. In the car, he would go through the radio stations until he found a certain song. And when I thought about changing the song, he would do it before I could do anything. I was beginning to think he can read my mind, so I actually asked him. To my surprise, he told me that he can read everyone's mind, but he has learned to have better control on it. He says that he blocks out mine 99% of the time, out of the "little respect" he has. I believe him, oddly enough.
I've also realized something else after being in a car with Gabriel more than once. He is just a terrible driver over all. He almost hit a tree a couple miles back. I also dont think he knows how to work the gear shift, or the blinkers. But he knows how to stay in the lines. Most of the time...
It's kind of cute in a way. Well, only when he's not about to drive us into something.
We pull into a really old parking lot neer the forest, and I instantly look over at Gabriel. Why are we here?
Abyssford has many trees all over it, but only one really big forest. And this is a forest that not many people like to go to.
There's been a lot of murders out here, and supposedly there's wolves. Another funny fact about Abyssford, back in the early 1800's, a group of women were suspected of witchcraft, and actually were said to live in this forest. They were hung in the main town area though. That's why they call this forest "The Enchanted Forest". Cliche, I know. But we live in a pretty cliche town that has been around since the mid-1700's. A lot of people were also suspected to be vampires here sometime in in the 20th century. There's literal caskets they still find here time from time with bones in it, as well as one of the choppy things placed where the neck is so of the vampire awoke it's head would be chopped off.
I open my car door and step out, Gabriel doing the same. As soon as I exit the car, a big gust of wind runs into me, sending chills all over me. Eek.
"Follow me." Gabriel says, heading off into the woods. Uh...
I cautiously follow after Gabriel. I sware if he's about to try and kill me, he has another thing coming. Darn, now I wish I still had my heels on so I could use them as a weapon. I decided to slip on my sneakers, that were in the back seat of my car, before we ever got to our destination. I ain't breaking an ankle tonight.
My heartbeat picks up the more we walk. There's so many creepy sounds out here. The owls 'hooing' just makes it more eery. Gabriel seems to be having no problem at all walking straight into the creepiest forest to ever exist. Then again, he's got some inhuman qualities. I'm pretty sure his...uh, breed, feel no fear unless there's a cross infront of their face or something. But...I'm pretty sure I have seen Gabriel scared before; Maybe nervous. I've also heard him genuinely laugh. Now I can't say I've met many demon-like beings in my lifetime, but Gabriel is by far the sweetest demon-thing I've ever met. Actually...he's the sweetest man I've ever met, too.
Suddenly, there's the sound of something moving in the bushes, and I jump neer Gabriel on instinct. I see him smirk, causing me to blush. Great, he seen that...
I am surprised when I feel Gabriel take my hand in his. I quickly look up at him, but he doesn't look down at me, just keeps walking. I look down at the ground, smiling to myself. I think the devil messed up with this demon. Because Gabriel Bloodworth acts a little bit more like an angel.
Gabriel and I come across The Enchanted Lake, but I notice a very old gazebo out in the distance. I didn't know this was here...
Gabriel and I step into the gazebo, and I look around. Woah.
