I pull back my hand right as somebody pulls me back into them. I go to elbow the person, but they instantly catch my elbow. It takes me a second to realize who it is before I look back, feeling his firmilar presence. I turn my head up and back to see Gabriel standing there, looking at Parker with a blank look. Gabriel rests his hand on my stomach. This is a oddly comfortable position.

"Is this guy bothering you, miss?" Gabriel asks, looking down at me. I instantly raise a brow at him, but then see the mischievous glint in his eyes. Ohhh. I give him a light smile before turning back to Parker.

"I think we're good now." I say, crossing my arms. This son of a jerk.

"So you-" Parker starts.

"No, you don't agree to be my date then snog some other girl during it. I honestly don't want to talk to you for the rest of the party." I turn around to walk away, but Parker's next words stop me.

"But you need a date for the dance." Crap.

You see, every time they have a founders day ball, they have one big dance at the end. You have to sign up with a date to compete. If you win, you get a free carriage ride back to your house. It's been a tradition since the first founders day ball.

"She has one." My eyes widen instantly, Gabriel placing his hand carfully on the middle of my back. Hm...

Oh.

I blush, smiling lightly as I look down.

"Let's be on our way, darlin'." Gabriel says, smirking lightly with a playful wink. I shake my head at him smiling before we walk off, leaving Parker there in shock. I feel a little bad for some reason...

"I thought you weren't supposed to show yourself." I say more as a statement than a question. We turn into the main lobby area. Gabriel moves his hand from my middle back to around my waist, lightly pulling me closer to him as it gets more crowded.

Is it good or bad I'm noticing the major differences between how Parker escorted me and how Gabriel is? Gabriel is just more...gentleman-like.

Gabriel cocks his head to the side, "Well, as your...Sentinel Demon, I do believe I would he failing my job if I let that patsy hurt you in any way." I smile a little to myself.

I see Lyssa in the middle of the lobby now, drinking a glass of champagne as her eyes smile in a certain direction. I wonder what she's looking at?

"Do you care if Lyssa sees you?" I ask quietly, worried. What do I even tell her?

Gabriel nods, "It's fine. If anything goes wrong I can always make everyone in this room forget they ever saw me. It would take a while, but it would get done." That's an unnerving thought. Wait...

I clear my throat nervously, "You...you haven't erased my memory before, right? Like that day at the car crash was the actual first time I seen you?" This is just coming to me. This could have all happend before. Not the same exact things but...

Gabriel shakes his head, "I haven't. I don't think I would ever be able to now. Unless..." a worried look comes onto Gabriel's face.

I raise a brow, "Unless what?"

Gabriel shakes his head, "Nothing." Yeah, that's definitely not nothing.

We approach Lyssa, her turning her head and spotting us right before we stop. She smiles instantly when seeing me, but then her eyes travel to the arm around, following up to Gabriel's face. Her eyebrows slightly rise. Please don't recognize him from the photo.
