Chapter 27

"Hey beautiful" his deep raspy voice spoke through the phone.

"Luke!" I beamed

"Cris?" my mom looked at me in shock

I covered the phones mic, "It's Luke!" I explained

"Oh tell him I said hi." She responded while smiling.

"Okay will do." I replied while walking towards my room.

I stepped into my room and locked the door, I then laid in bed

"My mom says hi."

"Hi to her also, "

"What are you doing?"

"Well I'm currently in our hotel room, The guys are playing some video game while I'm on the bed talking to you."

"Oh sounds very fun, haha"

"I really wish you could be here with me Cris. I miss you baby."

"I miss you too, I don't know how much longer I can wait for you to get back."

"I know babe, I'm sorry I honestly hoped this would last a week not a month."

"It's fine, you guys are doing great things right?"

"Of course, we got signed but we need to have songs written to perform them for a couple of gigs here."

"Luke, thats great. I knew you'd guys go far."

"Thanks babe, I'm so glad I have someone like you to support throughout all of this."

"Luke, I'll always be here for you. I love you."

"I love you to baby, I'm alway going to be there for you also. I want to wake up every morning to sound of your soft snores. I want to come home to the sound of you singing in our kitchen while washing dishing. I want to be the guy who you have a future with. Cris, baby let me be that guy?"

"Of course. I want you to be that guy."

"Hey Luke the record called, they need us." I heard someone call to him

"Baby, I'm so sorry I've got to go I'll call you back later. I love you.

"I love you t-"

Phone call over,  I felt the pang of sadness hit me once again. But there wasn't much I could do. Luke is living his dream and I should be proud of him. He'll be back soon anyway, and we will live together in a beautiful studio apartment. I just need to wait.

I lay back down in my bed and let my mind slip into a deep slumber.

Months later after senior graduation & summer

I woke up to the sound of my alarm, signaling me to get up for school.

Like every other morning I struggled to get up.

I reached forward to grab a scrunjii for my hair . I quickly stood up and went to my bathroom.

Accompanying me was a pair of ripped washed out jeans and a crop top that had the words "No boyfriend no problem."

I pulled the shirt over my head and began to apply my usual make up. Some foundation, eyeliner , mascara, and red lipstick. I then pulled my jeans on and adorned my feet withe my white doc martens.

I grabbed my car keys and headed out to my first class.

Once I was in my car the radio had turned on. I began to hear a familiar voice on the radio singing,

Simmer down, simmer down

They say we're too young now to amount to anything else

But look around

We work too damn hard for this just to give it up now

If you don't swim, you'll drown

But don't move, honey

Is that? No. Wait it is. Luke.

I quickly reached for the radio's knob and switched the station only to be met with an interview with 5 Seconds of Summer.

Great.

"So tell me guys. How is the rockstar life?" Ryan Seacrest spoke

"Well it's actually really tiring. But we love it and we wouldn't want to have it any other way." That was Ashton.

"Well of course you guys have been touring the whole world! "

"Almost the whole world, Ryan. We still need some stops." Calum

"Yeah, we still need to go to see some of our beautiful fans." Mikey

"You guys are great, anyway we're all dying to know. Are you guys currently single?" Ryan asked

I began to feel tears forming in my eyes.

"Well Ryan, in this showbiz we need to have a clear mind and be focused at all times. There really isn't any time for relationships." And that was Luke, my heart shattering with every word he said.

"Yes, it seems like a ton of focus goes into the band. However it was rumored that when you all started you did have girlfriends? What happened with that?"

"Well that is simply a rumor. A rumor that was made by some paparazzi I'm assuming." Ashton spoke up quickly.

"Really?" Ryan asked

"Of course it is Ryan, simply a rumor ." Luke assured.

I then reached for the radio and shut it off. I began to cry something I've grown so accustomed to do.

The thing is Luke and I , we sort of broke up. Well I'm not even sure because he never called me again or even tried to contact me. I tried to call him but he never reached back. He left me. Something he promised he would never do. Along with the other girls, I suffered and we never got a call back from any of the guys. We never got one.

Now the girls and I attend University of California, Los Angeles. Annabelle studying to be a journalist. Dani a fashion major. Jean an event planner. Lily and Tom are both majoring in business, hoping to start a family business. They got engaged. And I studying to be a lyricist.

We all moved on with our lives, well at least have tried. But its not easy to live a life without any resolution.

Luke's POV

"Alright thank you 5 Seconds of Summer. Be sure to buy their tickets on their website for any upcoming shows."

"No thank you Ryan, for having us." Ashton spoke up.

"Alway such kind boys. Anyway goodluck boys and I wish the best for you four."

"Bye" we all said in unison to the fans who were listening in on our interview.

Once we were off the air Ryan said his goodbyes and we headed out of the studio.

"Okay guys we have another interview with Sugarscape in 4 hours so I suggest you all go rest at the hotel room and I will call you when to come down and get ready." our manager Adam spoke.

"Alright let go sleep!" Mikey yelled.

"Mikey shut up, I'm tired. Calum grumbled.

"Luke you okay?" Ashton asked me.

"Uh yeah, just tired."

I just need to go to bed and forget the whole interview.

I need to forget her.
