Chapter 4

*Luke’s POV*

So its been a week since I’ve talked to Cris. I don’t know why but I can’t stop thinking about her and it’s all so hard right now. I see her and she is definitely not okay. She smiles but I can see it in her eyes that her smile isn’t real. I really want to know whats wrong? What did she mean she couldn’t let anyone in after everything? She’s hurt and it’s bugging me so much to see her that way. And to think this year would be a bore.

 

“Mate? Mate. Luke! Hello earth to Luke!” my friend Michael waved his hand in front of me.

 

My friends, Michael Ashton and Calum, from back home moved in with me a few days ago. They thought it’d be fun but lately I’ve been so mopey they can’t stand it.

 

“Dude, whats up? Ever since we came we haven’t seen you smile or be yourself? You okay?” Ashton asked me.

“Yeah does my wittle wuke want to cwuddle with me?” Calum chimed in.

  Michael started to laugh making his way into the kitchen, typical Mikey.

 “Guys, I’m sorry I’ve been such a buzzkill. I haven’t even welcomed you guys properly. It’s just that there’s this girl I recently met and wow she’s a handful but i just can’t get enough of her. It’s like shes a magnet and well I just keep getting drag towards her. But she’s not like other girls, she’s completely different. The first day was just so different. She was wreck, like a total wreck her make-up running down her face and I just had the urge to fix her and hold her in my arms to tell her everything would be alright. Does it sound crazy or what” I sighed and leaned back on the couch rubbing my eyes

 “Mate she seems like she’s been throughout and I don’t think you should even get involved. I’m sure she can take care of hers-”

“No Calum! You didn’t see her, you didn’t see how red her eyes were and how bad she was shaking. That poor girl she needs me and I know its weird for me to say this but I feel like i might need her also”

“Alright. Alright guys we shouldn’t fight about this. Luke if you feel like this maybe you should give it a shot? Just be careful okay, the way you described her it just seems like she’s been through loads of crap. Don’t make it worse.” Ashton always knew the right things to say. Hes right I think I’ll give it a shot.

“So are you gonna welcome us properly or not mate?” Michael always had to ruin the moments haha

“Well I mean tomorrows Saturday so why not have a party? Is that a good enough welcoming for you Mikey?

“Just perfect Lukey”

“Wait so we’re having a party?!” Calum asked me excitedly

“Yeah. Oh crap I’m running late , well im off to school alright guys. In the meantime go buy some party stuff and I’ll spread the word around at school.”

“Alright. Bye Luke” all the boys yelled at me in unison. They haven’t enrolled into Hester High yet so they don’t have school today. Lucky.

 

*Cris’ POV* 

Today’s Friday, another week over with. Its been over a week since I’ve talked to Luke and he hasn’t tried talking to me anymore in a way I’m glad but also hurt a bit. But really what did I expect, I’m not his type. I decided to wear my black leather jacket with a white v- neck some jeans and a polka dotted infinity scarf. I let my hair flow down my shoulders and put a black beanie, today seemed like it would be a bit windy. As usual I put mascara eyeliner and lip gloss on.

“Alright mom I’m headed out.”

“Okay honey, be careful okay?”

“Okay mom, hey wheres dad?”

“Um he’s out already.” my mom looked sad when I brought him up, I wonder what’s up

“Mom you okay?”

“Yes, now Cris go you’re gonna be late”

I knew something was up but she was right I’m running late I’ll talk to her later.

 

At school

So I’m in third period with Dani and Tom. Mr. Frier didn’t come today so we basically had a free period. Dani, Tom, and I were talking about our weekend plans until I heard that beautiful deep voice I’ve been dying to hear this past week

“Hey guys I’m having a welcoming party tomorrow for my mates from Sydney, Australia and I was wondering if you wanted to come.” he seemed nervous but why? Waiting for our reply I noticed him playing with his lip piercing, did he have that before?

“Yeah sure we’ll go” Dani’s response snapped me out my trance.

“Wait what?” I asked. Dani just shoved me lightly as to say dude shut up

“Alright then I’ll be waiting to you see you there.” Luke then walked away and telling others of his party.

“Dani! Why?”

“Oh come on Cris you know you want to talk to him. Just take a chance, please” Dani and Tom were giving me the puppy face.

“Ugh fine. But if I hate it we’re leaving to my place to watch American Horror Story.” They hated that show it freaked them out a bit so i was hoping they’d say nevermind but instead of hearing that i heard “Alright deal!”

The school day went by quick. Before I knew it I was already riding my penny board home. No one was home, Mom was probably working late she’s a nurse so she’s rarely home and my brothers we’re probably at my grandmas. My dad well he’s rarely around, he’s MIA lately.

I decided to make myself some dinner. Spaghetti yum! While waiting for my food to cook I cleaned around the house, I didn’t want my mom to come home tired to a messy house. I picked up my brothers toys and random papers on the floor.

Oh crap! I better check on my food.

I got there just in time. I served myself a bowl and ate in the living room watching The Purge: Anarchy. Thats basically how my night went. Stayed home and watched movies.
