Seonghwa

He lazily stirred his tea, looking at Hyuk in front of him. It wasn't easy to part with Hongjoong, but he had been right, and it was indeed time to meet the next competitor.

Hyuk was overjoyed to see Seonghwa, which he couldn't reciprocate. He tried, but again he wasn't really close to him to begin with. His mind was circling around Hongjoong, who decided to stay close to Seonghwa's meeting today.

They haven't spoken a word about what happened in the woods, but Seonghwa was sure he was thinking about it just as much as he did himself. He sighed and leaned back in his chair, his shoulder accidently hitting Jongho's hands on the headrest of his chair.

He looked back briefly. The dragon was closer than he had anticipated. "Is something the matter?" Jongho grunted and shook his head. He leaned forward a bit to whisper in his ear. "Like him less than the last one."

Seonghwa frowned and watched as he stood straight again. Hyuk was a far more pleasant character than Jisung. "So, tell me your highness, how are you doing? Are they treating you right?" Hyuk's eyes wandered to Hongjoong, who was just a bit further away, behind Jongho.

Seonghwa nodded. "They do. I don't even get to miss home." Hyuk raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really?" He hummed. "Really. I was wondering ... why did they send you?" Hyuk averted his eyes. "Well, your majesty the king misses you, of course. So he send me to bring you back home."

Seonghwa tilted his head lightly and looked back at Jongho while mouthing the word liar. At least Jongho was snickering about it. "You do know that you have to fight a dragon to archive that goal?" As if he had waited for his que, Jongho's tail hit the tiled floor.

The sound rang through their ears, reminding them that said dragon was indeed present. "I am aware, but I am prepared. Don't worry about me." Seonghwa didn't. "That's good to hear. So, it is safe for me to assume that you don't follow any ulterior motive of your own?"

Hyuk frowned. "What are you implying, your highness?" Seonghwa hummed, head tilted upwards a bit. "I'm not implying anything. Don't think about it too much. I just want to make sure your intentions are as pure as they should be."

"I do want to bring you back home. These demons aren't a good influence on you." Seonghwa raised his cup to his lips and sipped his tea slowly. "That's not for you to decide who is good for me and who isn't. Nor is it my father's choice anymore. He can send as many warriors as he wants, but I doubt that any of you are able to challenge him."

He nonchalantly gestured to Jongho. He didn't intend to sound so harsh, but he knew there wasn't anyone strong enough to challenge Jongho in his kingdom. "We shall see about that then." Seonghwa nodded. "Tomorrow. Now is your chance to back away from this."

"I am sorry, your highness, but this is nothing I can do. I came here to take the challenge and I won't leave like this." He held eye contact with Seonghwa that none of them wanted to break first. Hyuk eventually remembered their difference in status and was the first to avert his eyes.
