Ashton's POV

I stand at the entrance to my room, observing the dark-skinned guy pacing back and forth, biting on his nails and snapping the rubber band he wears on his wrist. He seems on the verge of having a nervous breakdown.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I cross the room and sit on the chair at my desk. He does not notice that I've entered the room yet. He is still in his own world.

I speak again. "Dude!" He snaps his head towards me now realising I am in front of him.

He raises an eyebrow. "Hm?"

"I asked what's wrong?"

He's quiet. He stops pacing and makes his way to the bed and sits on the edge. I wait for him to speak.

"I did something terrible."

This isn't like any other situation he had gotten himself into before. He usually isn't this tense. Michael is dripping in a nervous sweat.

"Well, what is it?"

He is preparing himself to tell me. "Please don't get mad at me."

Anything that led with that sentence would obviously make me mad. I start to get annoyed with all this suspense. "Just spit it out already." I lean back in my chair, still waiting for his response.

"You sure you won't get mad, right?"

I roll my eyes. "I won't get mad!" My voice comes out a lot angrier than I mean it to be. I take a deep breath and repeat it again, this time in a calmer tone. "I won't get mad."

"Ok." His voice is shaky as he talks. "So you know that girl I was seeing? Rachel?"

"Yeah."

He stutters while he speaks which makes me feel nervous. "I...I slept with her...sister."

I sit up straight and stare at the guy in front of me, whose head is now between his knees. You'd expect me to be surprised by this because of the way he is acting, but I'm not. He's done this before. Every time he says he'll change, and then ends up doing the exact same thing all over again and we end up here.

He lifts his head slightly, searching my face for a response. "With the sister this time? That's a new low." I try to hold in a laugh because the situation is a little funny.

"C'mon man. This isn't funny. I don't know how to fix this." This is the first time I've ever seen Michael beat himself up so much after cheating on someone.

"Okay, sorry. I have to ask, how did it even happen?"

"I don't know. I was at her house meeting her family, and hanging out with Kaitlin. One thing led to another and we were doing it in the bathroom."

"So let me get this straight. You went with your girlfriend to her parent's house and then did it with her sister in her parent's bathroom?" He shakes his head, agreeing as if there was nothing wrong with that sentence. "That's sick. Even for you."
