2nd Person PoV

The conversation with Soda completely shifted your mood. You collected the dangerous yet, adored photos and placed them in your bedside drawer. Despite the horrific mess they'd caused, the memories never soured. You hummed to yourself as you searched for the perfect outfit. Something to reflect a good image to your parents, while also showing off your assets. A bit of searching in the closet revealed a short, flowy dress - white fabric covered in small, red floral print. It was a bit low cut in the front, but still somewhat modest.

Before getting dressed, you needed to rinse the remnants of salt water from your hair. Beach waves were cute, though they wouldn't match too well with the serious dinner. You grabbed your towel and robe, leaving the bedroom in a hurry. The time constraint certainly wasn't ideal.

You emerged from the steam of your unsettlingly hot shower, already planning out your makeup. Mascara, a small amount of eyeliner, and some pretty pink lipgloss to keep it simple. Confidence radiated your reflection in the mirror as you applied everything very carefully. One wrong move could've sent you into a full blown meltdown.

"(Y/n) I hope you're getting ready up there! Your father said yes!" Your mother yelled up the stairs. Everything was falling into line. You did a little happy dance, excited to have Ponyboy meet your parents. Sure, you'd imagined it happening differently - introducing him as a boyfriend instead, but this just had to make do for now.

When your face and hair reached a solid point of decency, you slipped the previously planned outfit on - topping it off with a pair of ruffled ankle socks. A quick glance at the clock let you know it was nearing the boy's time of arrival. The only thing left to deal with was your parents.

You nervously strolled into the livingroom.

'God, he better not give me a hard time.'

Your dad was watching TV, still not dressed.

"Hey, they're coming soon. You should probably change now." You suggested quietly. His expression was one of dismay, clearly annoyed with you.

"Why would I go out of my way for some hoodlums? They're certainly not gonna show us the same courtesy." He hissed.

"I assure you they'll be at their best."

"She's right honey. You wouldn't want to be underdressed, right?" Your mother was a miracle worker. He instantly rose from the couch with a grumble, going up to his bedroom to put on a better outfit. In the meantime, you helped set the table.

"So (Y/n), are you gonna tell me which one you're crushing on - or will I have to guess?" Your mother's face held a playful smirk.

"Be quiet!! What if dad heard that? Plus, it's nothing." The silverware clanged loudly as you slammed them against the table. This wasn't something wanted to talk about especially given your situation.

"I don't believe you. I saw those pictures girl. You seemed pretty comfortable with a few of 'em in the kitchen. It's not the boy who drove you home right?" She raised a brow, trying to break you.

"Dally? No, he's certainly a looker though. You wouldn't like him. I-"

'knock, knock'

"Oh my god. That's them. I'M NERVOUS MOM!WHAT IF DAD FREAKS OUT AGAIN?!" You placed the extra dishes on the counter while pacing back and forth.

"It'll be fine, I promise. Now, get the damn door already!" She aggressively motioned to it. You took a deep breath and walked over.

'They're the best. It's okay. Pony's waiting.'
