It was Lorelai's graduation today and Devyn had promised she would be there.

However that didn't exactly go to plan.

Walking to school, Devyn couldn't help but glance at Luke's. She wished that Jess was still here. She wished he didn't leave.

They had only called eachother once. Both wanting to call more, but neither had to courage to pick up the phone.

A bus drove past Devyn, stopping at the bus stop that was about ten steps away from her. She paused for a moment. Debating if what she was about to do, was a good idea.

'Screw it.'

The brunette walked over to the bus and got in. It went all the way to New York.

'Thank you.' Devyn called, as she got off the bus, taking her first ever step in New York.

She studied her surroundings. Taking everything in. Wow.

The girl contemplated calling Jess to ask where he was but she decided against it and went to look for him herself.

Devyn walked around, searching every place she thought Jess would be. She was about to give up when she got to central park. However, her eyes trailed along to a bench that wasn't that far away from her. And sitting in that bench was Jess.

She strolled over there acting like any normal person would. Placing herself on the bench, she peaked over Jess' shoulder.

'Why what a lovely book. Do you think I could borrow it?' Jess jumped, spinning his head around to face Devyn.

He smiled upon seeing her. 'Devyn? What are you doing here?'

'Oh, you know. Wanted to come along to New York. I mean if I want to live here, I got to check it out.' Devyn giggled. She moved closer to Jess so there shoulders where touching. She had butterflies in her stomach as soon as they made contact.

Jess' eyes traveled down to the purple cast on Devyns arm. 'Does it hurt?'

'Not really. I've grown used to the pain.' Devyn said. 'I mean it's better then cracking my head open.'

'Yeah.' Jess laughed slightly. 'Does Lorelai know your here?'

Devyn stopped laughing as if she had been slapped in the face. 'Oh, shoot. I uh. I didn't tell her.' She sighed. 'I meam I couldn't anyways, she doesn't like you, no offence, and she would never want me to ever see you again. And if she ever found out I was here then, oh, I would be dead. You better go to my funeral.'

'Wouldn't dream of missing it.'

'Oh and she has a graduation. If I miss that i'll be deader then dead.' Devyn crossed her arms over her chest.

Both the teens stayed silent before Jess spoke up again, 'I mean. Your here now. Why don't I show you around.' Devyn nodded.

'Yeah.' She stood up, 'Lead the way, Jessica.'

'Oh, oh, oh. Oh my god. My mom would love this.' Devyn said, jumping up and down in excitement. She held up one of 'The Bangles' albums.

'Well get it for her.' Jess suggested, 'Graduation gift.' Devyn nodded walking over to the worker by the cash register.

He was young, about 17-18. He smiled down at Devyn. 'Hey. That all you want?'

Devyn nodded, she looked over to Jess to see if he had anything, but he was glaring at the worker. She turned back confused slightly. 'Yes that will be all, thank you.'

'Of course.' He put the album in a bag for Devyn. 'I'm Jack by the way.'

'Devyn.' She smiled. 'It was nice to meet you.'
