"Evie you need to look at Instagram right now" My best friend, Indigo screamed through the phone as I was painting my nails.

"Jesus Indi you made me smudge my nails" I rolled my eyes but complied with her wishes and opened up instagram. Nothing could have prepared me for what was plastered all over my feed. No sounds came out of me as I clicked on the closet article and began to read it.

'Dallas Tucker caught with engaged daughter of biggest sponsor, Empire Oil'

Within the article there were multiple pictures of the pair clearly enjoying one another as the diamond ring on the woman's finger caught the light.

"No fucking way" All I could do was burst out laughing, I knew one of these days Dallas' playboy ways were going to catch up to him.

"Isn't that hilarious. How were they so stupid to do it outside" Indigo giggled through the phone.

Just as I was about to reply a knock sounded from my door. I hummed indicating that whoever it was could come in and went back to painting my nails a pretty red colour. I looked up to see who had entered my room and was met with my dad who had a stern look on his face.

"Indi babe I've got to go" Indigo responded with a 'love you' before hanging up.

"Hey dad, why the long face?" I couldn't help but laugh at my own joke, I knew exactly why he had that grim look on his face.

"Not funny Eva. We need a chat"

He moved to come and sit on the edge of my bed and I put the cap of my polish back on so that I could place it on the bedside table. I sat in silence as I waited for my dad to talk.

"I assume you've heard of Tucks' scandal" I couldn't help but snort as I thought of the article. I knew this wasn't funny to my dad but it was hilarious to me. I'd moved past my insecure thoughts with the hockey boys to simply hating Dallas, he was the reason my head was so screwed up, even if he didn't know it. So seeing him in a big scandal was funny to me, karma for ignoring me all those years when I was just a child.

"It isn't funny Eva, we've already lost Empire Oil as a sponsor and this could really damage his career"

With that I stopped laughing and examined my nails instead. I didn't care that it could damage Dallas' career but losing a sponsor as big as Empire Oil wasn't good for the team and that team was like my dad's baby. It would hurt him to see the team be damaged.

"Empire Oil is bad for the environment, don't stress about it too much pops" I placed my hand on his knee and gave him a reassuring smile. But when he released a sigh I knew that my weak reassurance didn't help in the slightest.

"You've always had a level head on your shoulders Eva" I stayed silent as I knew this compliment wasn't out of the blue, he wanted something from me and from the tone of his voice it wasn't going to be something that I liked.
