I'm standing in an open field. The long grass tickles my legs as it sways back and forth in the wind.
I spot a figure in the distance and make my way towards it.
As I get closer, I find that the figure is a person.
A huge person.
No... not a person. A god?
The ichor is seeping from their wounds. The god is barely conscious.
But they wouldn't have been able to move anyway. Large gold chains are wrapped around them, anchoring them to the hard soil.
Suddenly, the god snaps awake, and struggles against their bonds.
But no matter how hard they thrash, they can't break free.
The god stops, just as suddenly as they start, and looks directly into my eyes.
"You know what to do."
I gasp awake.
I know how to stop Alastor.
..
"Care to share with the class?" Robin asks me, pointing out the fact that I'm bubbling with excitement and unable to keep still.
"Shush, I want to wait for everyone to get here first."
Just then, the person I was waiting for enters the room.
"Nice of you to join us, Red."
He gives me a 'fuck off' look and rubs his eyes tiredly.
Makes sense, we did stay up pretty late last night.
"Now that everyone is here, I have some important news." I pause dramatically. "I know how to stop Alastor."
The group breaks out into a mix of cheers and questions.
I wait for them to quiet down a bit before I continue, "I had a demigod dream last night. I was in a field, and a god was being held down by these golden chains. I think it was trying to tell me that Alastor could be captured, we just have to find these chains."
"But how are we even supposed to find the chain?" Artemis asks.
"That's the thing, I had another dream a couple weeks ago of Kaldur and I as babies under the ocean. At first, I was really confused because I thought it was telling me that I was pregnant-"
Everyone's head turns towards Red, and Red looks like a deer caught in headlights.
"BUT- After I woke up today, I realized that Baby Kaldur and I were sitting on top of golden chains. The same golden chains from my dream last night. And I didn't recognize the place at first, but I realized it might be hinting at the place me and Kaldur found together years ago that was full of baby jellyfish. Hence, us as babies."
"Great, we should leave now." Robbie states.
..
We've been flying in the bioship over the ocean for an hour now.
"Are you sure you know where we're going?" Megan asks, looking at the blue waters that stretch towards the horizons on all sides.
Kaldur looks at her, "She's literally the daughter of Poseidon."
"Yea, the ocean is basically my bitch." I add helpfully.
"I thought Roy was your bitch." Wally jokes, earning him a slap on the back of his head by said bitch.
But I'm too distracted to join in on teasing Red. I feel the unique aura of jellyfish beneath us in the water. A lot of it. "I think we're here."
Kaldur and I walk up to the opening on the ship floor. We're the only ones going because the rest of the team can't exactly breathe or handle the pressure underwater.
"See you guys in a few." I salute, then fall backwards into the ocean.
I feel the waters envelop me, like a warm hug, telling me it missed me.
I feel Kaldur enter a few seconds later, and we both start our journey down towards the ocean floor.
The water feels amazing gliding through my fingertips. I've missed this feeling.
In minutes, we reach the bottom, searching for signs of the golden chains.
Baby jellyfish are swimming around us, trying to play.
Then I get an idea- I can get the jellyfish to tell us where the chains are.
Since the jellyfish don't exactly have brains, I try to send them feelings and textures of the chains that their nervous system might recognize.
Cold, hard, smooth...
I think they get the idea because soon I'm following them through a coral arch and into a little clearing.
Half buried in the sand is almost an exact replica of what I saw in my first dream. Minus the babies of course.
I call out to Kaldur, and soon we're dragging the chains back to the surface, saying goodbye to the jelly babies.
When we break the surface, I realize the ship opening is 10 or so feet in the air. So, I ask the ocean to bring us up a little further and we step through the hole and back into the ship.
We drop the chains onto the floor of the ship, catching the attention of the rest of the team.
"Now we just have to catch a god."
