Not All Prophecies Are True

I appear in front of a large bonfire in the woods that are on campus and look around to see that everything seems to be moving in slow motion ever-so-slightly. High-pitched ringing screams through my ears, causing me to cover them and I try to focus on the faint conversations coming through. With no luck in stopping it, the ringing continues and I realise that this is Jayce's bonfire, the conversation from the morning playing back in my head. My head whips around in an attempt to find Cas or Grace in the large crowd of students, not wanting to draw too much attention to myself. After a few minutes of searching, I find neither one of them and relax slightly at the thought that they decided not to come. That's until a scream echoes from up above. My head snaps up just in time to see Cas falling from a branch in the trees and that's when everything goes black.

My eyes shoot open and I sit up quickly, causing Azura to jump.

"What's wrong?" she asks, standing up immediately.

"I think Cas is in trouble," is all I say before shoes appear on my feet and I teleport to the woods near the bonfire.

Using my vamp hearing, I search the area for Cas' voice, soon finding it and vamp to where I can see everything going on, but can't be seen. Just as I get there, I feel the wind pick up and hear the same shout I heard in the dream a few seconds later and look up to see the branch snap and Cas begin to fall with it.

"Cas!" I hear Grace shout and soon spot Jayce sitting on the branch above with a faint smirk.

"Motus," I mumble, moving my finger in a downward motion.

This causes Jayce to go flying off the branch into Cas, who he grabs onto and turns so he's on the bottom. A few seconds later, they hit the ground with an audible thud, Jayce absorbing most of the impact. I watch as Grace easily manoeuvres down the tree and runs to Cas, who's still lying on the ground.

"Oh my god, Cas, are you okay? I'm so sorry, I didn't know that was going to happen, oh my god...," I hear Grace start saying frantically.

"I'm fine, but he's not waking up," he says, sounding panicked.

When I hear Jayce finally wake up, I appear opposite the three and focus all my attention on Jayce, my face threatening to change at the amount of rage I'm feeling. Everyone backs away from the four of us when they notice me and Jayce immediately straightens up, his posture challenging.

"Did I not warn you?" I ask in anger.

He says nothing as his pack appears next to him, blocking Cas and Grace from me in the process.

"This wasn't his fault, Zeman," Trix says, standing next to him.

"Having your girlfriend fight your battles for you?" I scoff in amusement, stepping closer to them and I hear Cae and Jasper appear out of the darkness.

Jayce steps closer as well and it's a silent battle, neither of us making the first move, and it's taking everything in me to not attack him right here. My eyes flash yellow for half a second, urging him to make the first move and he lunges at me, but Jasper and Cae step between us and shove him back before he can make any contact with me.

"You need to leave," Cae tells me.

I look over and see Cas and Grace quickly making their way through the snow-covered woods. I vamp over to them and Grace notices me first, stopping dead in her tracks.

"What's wro-," Cas starts, but stops when he notices me. My eyes meet his and I see hints of gold being illuminated by the northern lights. He narrows his eyes slightly and says, "Let's go, Grace, it's getting late."
