The sound of a door closing causes me to stir and open my eyes. Almost immediately, I'm tempted to close my eyes again when I feel the familiar warmth of a body lying on top of me, but with a quick check of the time, I decide against it.
"Cas," I mumble quietly while gently shaking him. He mumbles something incoherent and pulls me closer to him in his sleep. "Love, you need to get up. You've got classes," I continue, shaking him again while half-heartedly trying to get out of his grip.
"Mhm, five more minutes," he mumbles, causing me to chuckle quietly and stop my movements.
Despite my better judgement, I hold him close and close my eyes again before slowly drifting back to sleep. That's until I hear Azura come out of the bathroom.
"Aren't you two just adorable," she teases with a smile, which causes Cas to sit up almost immediately. "My bad mate," she says, laughing at his reaction.
"What time is it?" he asks tiredly while leaning against my headboard and I can't help the fond smile that forms when I see his hair sticking up in a thousand different directions. I could get used to waking up next to him I think to myself, too tired to shut the thought out.
"A little after 8," she answers.
"Shit, I don't normally get up this late," he says, rubbing his eyes.
"I tried waking you, but you weren't having any of it," I tell him, a smile still on my face.
"I don't normally wake up that easily when I'm sound asleep, but I should probably go get ready and everything," he says as he moves off the bed and almost immediately, I feel myself missing the warmth of him next to me.
Azura shoots me a quick look before walking over to my wardrobe. As Cas walks over to the sofa where his jeans are, I watch Azura dig through my clothes before handing some to him.
"Here, so we don't have to go all the way to your room before heading to the dining hall," she tells him when he gives her a confused look.
"Are you sure?" he asks, looking at her then at me. "I can just meet you there, it's no trouble."
"It's fine, mate. Zai doesn't mind, right Zai?" she asks in a tone that implies I should agree to it either way while looking over at me.
"Yeah, sure," I mumble, still half asleep.
"There's an extra toothbrush in the bathroom as well."
"Okay," he says quietly before walking to the bathroom.
Once the door is shut, I ask, "Seriously?"
"What? I don't feel like walking all the way to his room, sue me," she says, shrugging.
"He's not Cassiel."
"Obviously," she tells me, rolling her eyes.
"So take it down a notch, yeah? Don't scare him off, he's not used to the dynamic the two of you had," I continue, sitting up.
"Brother, if you haven't scared him off yet, then I doubt I'll be able to."
Just as I'm about to say something else, there's a knock on the door, so I wave my hand and watch Cae walk in.
"What's up guys?" he says with a smile as he walks straight towards the mini-fridge.
"Again, I see you only come here when you're hungry," I mumble tiredly, still trying to wake up.
