I release my hold on Azura and watch as she falls to the ground. I rub my eyes, still trying to wake up and check my phone to see it's half three in the morning. I lie back on my bed with a groan before standing up.

"So, to what do I owe the pleasure, dear sister?" I ask, walking over to the mini-fridge.

"I can't just come to pay a visit to my favourite brother?" she asks, feigning innocence.

I raise my eyebrow and drink some of the blood before saying, "You're not allowed out of the other side, we both know that. Mother wouldn't have sent you unless she needed a message delivered. Not to mention, as your twin, I can sense when you're lying."

"Fine, you caught me," she says with a smile. "I'm here to tell you everything you discovered about Cassiel earlier is true," she continues, her tone going hard.

"How do you know about that?"

     "Mother sensed it."

     "Do you have answers?"

"Yes. However, you must promise you won't lose control."

I eye her suspiciously, then give her an emotionless smile and say, "I promise."

"Don't forget I can tell when you're lying too."

"Well, I can't exactly give you my word with no information. I can't predict the future."

"No one can hear us, correct?"

"I live in a school full of vampires. You really think I wouldn't soundproof my room?" I ask.

"Fair," she says. With a deep breath, she continues, "Cassiel as you deduced earlier, is still alive. About a century ago, father overheard Lucifer and Michael talking about The Fallen One. God deemed his crimes so bad that he created another level of hell, one that only his trusted few knew about." I feel my face begin to change, which causes her to pause. "Do not allow yourself to lose control, brother."

"I'm fine," I spit, rage slowly taking over. I'm going to make him pay, my mind screams. "Continue," I tell her, trying to push it down.

"Father soon sent his most powerful demons to get intel and after a while, they were finally able to find and gain access to him, then broke him out. He was sent up to Mother, where he then proceeded to spend the next few decades healing. Once mother deemed him fully healed about 18 years ago, she offered him something," she explains, pausing again.

     "What did she offer him?"

"The chance to reunite with you. The only downside is that he would slowly lose his memory with time until he eventually forgot who he was and why he was here. But I suppose fate decided to make you cross paths again."

"We may have crossed paths again, but that doesn't change anything. I'm not going to get involved with him any more than I already have."

"You're going to sit here and pretend like you don't want to get to know this version of him?" she asks, sitting next to me.

"They're not the same person," I tell her blankly, still refusing to believe any of this.

"Really?" she scoffs in amusement. "Are you not the same person as you were before you came down here? Mother doesn't change the person's soul, she simply causes the memories to fade away with time. The Castiel Verlice that you have felt something strange for since the moment he arrived, is the same Cassiel you knew and loved two thousand years ago.
