Alexis' POV
Drew and Arely got on the dance floor. "They're a cute couple," I smiled. "And they seem really happy." I sighed. "I remember when I used to be that happy."
"What happened?" Tony asked.
"Something we can save for later," I smiled.
"That works for me," Tony nodded. "I have a question to ask you."
"What?" I asked.
"Well, NCIS has this little ball thing every year," Tony sighed. "This is my fifth year going."
"How old are you?" I asked.
"I'm only 21," Tony smiled. "But, I was wondering if you would like to go with me."
"Tony, you're going to have to ask my dad for that one," I said. A lady walked up to us and told us to sign our name on the paper. We did. "You know how my dad is."
"If you had a choice," Tony sighed.
"I would say yes," I nodded. "When is it?"
"Friday," he replied.
"You ask my dad and see what he says first," I nodded. "Then we can talk about what we're going to wear."
"That works for me," Tony nodded. The song ended. Drew and Arely sat back down. "How does it feel to be here with a NCIS agent?"
"I think that'll be better to keep that in your pocket tonight," Arely smiled. "We don't need anyone freaking out but do you probably have to state your occupation if you are voted king."
"Well, tonight keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?" Tony asked.
"May I have your attention, please?" asked a lady at the microphone. She looked at her clipboard and clear her throat. "We are ready to announce to the prom king and queen for tonight. They will share the first dance together to Sad Song by We The Kings."
"I wonder who they are," Tony nodded.
"So tonight's prom king and queen are Alexis Gibbs and Tony DiNozzo," the lady replied as everyone clapped. "Please join me onstage."
"You won," Arely said as I stood up. "Tony, go."
"Well, this is fun," Tony said as he stood up. I grabbed a hold of his arm as we walked on stage. The lady put a tiara on me and put a crown on Tony. "This is all new to me."
"You didn't win king when you were in high school?" I asked.
"State your name, age, occupation, and a little speech," the lady smiled.
"Okay," I said as I stood in front of the mic. "My name is Alexis Michelle Gibbs, 17, and I am currently unemployed. Since I was 5 years old I've been dreaming of this moment. Although ,that moment was taken from me when I was 10 years old because I was sent to NYC to live with my uncle." I sighed. "Seven years later my uncles hired help was shot two days ago and I was sent back to DC to live with my dad. I did graduate High School which was a good thing but I had to leave seven years of my teenage life back in NYC where I had it. I wasn't able to attend prom in NYC because I was sent back earlier than I had expected. But I'm here now with my best friend and my date." I looked at Arely. "I quit my job as a waitress in NYC and now that I'm back in DC could pick things up where I left them. Catching up with my best friend and going to NCIS headquarters and spending my time there. But thank you for this amazing opportunity and making it the best prom I've ever had. Thank you."
"My name is Anthony Tony DiNozzo, 21, and I'm employed as a NCIS senior special agent," Tony started. "I didn't win prom king, believe it or not, but I did win homecoming king my sophomore year." I looked at Tony. "Alexis had brought me here as her date and I'm glad to be here. Thank you for letting me win king. I hope you have a wonderful night."
The song started playing. Tony grabbed my hand and lead me onto the dance floor. We looked at each other because of our height differences. With my 6 inch stiletto heels I'm 5'6". Without them, I'd be 5'0". I shrugged as Tony looked at me. I put my hands on his shoulders as he put his hands on my waist. He pulled me closer and I was about to clasps my hands around his neck.
"If my dad saw us right now, he'd probably kill you," I whispered.
"I hightly doubt that," Tony smiled.
I laid my head on his chest and listen to his heartbeat. "My dad is a highly trained Marine, Tony," I sighed. "Trust me. He can take you down."
"I didn't know that," Tony sighed. The song ended. We partied the night away. Around midnight, we met at the limo. "Time to take you home."
"You're not going to the after party?" Arely asked.
"Please Tony?" I asked. His phone rang. "Dammit..."
"Language," Tony said as he picked up. "Yeah, boss." He looked at me. "We'll be there." He hung up. "You're dad wants us at headquarters, pronto."
"Sorry, Arely," I sighed. We got into the limo. "I wish I can hang out with you."
"We still have Saturday," Arely nodded.
"You're right," I smiled. We stopped by a coffee shop so I can get Dad a cup of coffee. We then got to headquarters and Tony dragged us up to the third floor. "Okay." Dad looked at us. "Hi?"
"What happened to you two?" Dad asked.
"We were crowned prom king and queen," I sighed.
"Nothing," Tony said trying to cover up what I said as he took off the crown. "It's nothing boss."
"Here Dad," I said handing Dad the cup of coffee. "We made a stop before we came here."
Dad took a sip. "Just the way I like it," Dad smiled. "So, you won prom queen tonight?" I nodded and smiled. "I knew you would. You're beautiful, just like your mother."
"Dad, Tony was telling me about this thing happening Friday," I hinted. "Like a military ball or something."
"And I've been meaning to talk to everyone about that," Dad smiled. "The annual military dinner is coming up and I would like for everyone to attend." I smiled at Dad. "Meaning everyone would need to find a date and --" Tony raised his hand. "-- Alexis is not going with you, Tony. I'm also not sending her with McGee. She's going with me."
"You want me to go as your date, Dad?" I asked.
"You're my guest, not my date," Dad smiled. "There's a difference, sweetheart."
"Okay, Dad," I sighed. "Oh, by the way, Arely is taking me to see a boy band, Saturday. Can I go?"
"But we were going to see Hunter Hayes," Abby said walking in.
"The boy band performs at noon so I have plenty of time," I smiled.
"Take McGee with you," Dad nodded. "And you're going dress shopping tomorrow with McGee for the dinner on Friday."
"Can I take Ziva?" I asked. "She a female. No offense, McGee, but it's a girl thing."
"Well, I'm more than open to help out with choosing a dress and shoes," McGee nodded.
"Okay, then can I take Arely with me?" I asked.
"Yeah," Dad nodded. "McGee, take her home and don't leave her alone, please."
"Boss, you wanted me to run a trace," McGee stated.
"I have Abby," Dad replied.
"Dad likes to do that," I shrugged.
"And make sure your keep this of you," Dad nodded as he put a watch on me.
"What is this?" I asked. He pressed a button and a see through light purple (close to clear) film kind of thing appeared in front of me. He messed around while I had the watch on me. "Dad, what was the first thing?"
"Force field," Dad nodded. "It'll come in handy. Take care of the watch."
"I will," I nodded. "You don't need to worry."
"Now go home and get some sleep," Dad replied. "You have a just day."
"I'll stop by here in the morning before heading to the mall," I sighed. "Just to say hi to everyone." I looked at Dad. "Remember when I did that when I was little?"
Dad nodded and chuckled. "Okay, I tell you what," Dad smiled. "Save dress shopping till Wednesday and we can go to Karaoke Love Thursday with the team." I was smiling like a kid in a candy store. "You remember that place?"
"You anyways took me there as a kid," I smiled. "Can I take Arely too? She always loved it there."
"It'll be just like old times," Dad nodded. "Except with my team."
"No, he calls you guys family," I smiled. "That's what you guys are to me, kinda."
