Everything is on track. You are going to graduate, and leave your past behind. Think about your friends - they had been there for you. Before you leave, reach out to them and win their trust back. It will be a WIN for you. Meet tbem one at a time, so that you would have their full attention and you can say what you want to say.
I texted Sean. He would be the most reasonable person to start with. I asked him to meet me at the cafe nearby his work.
Marcela met Sean after his work. They sat down and talked for a bit and then she explained everything to him. The gist - "I got rehab and I'm sober and yes I do relapse but not for a long time and I'm doing better".
Since the cafe was getting busy, Sean suggested continuing the conversation at his place. It was a short walk. As soon as they walked in, he panicked at the sight of Advil on the table. He literally snatched it off the table, and went to the other room. Sean was not taking any chances.
So much for trust. I was really offended, after all the talk, I expected more from him. Stars were not aligned in my favor that day. At that moment, his girlfriend walked in, looked at me and said "Is this the relapsing drug addict?"
I lost my composure, and And I sort of kind of maybe threw a punch.
