6 Years later
"Hello? Where are you?" I ask James through the phone. We've watched four seasons changed six times together, through virtual or actual. Many cold wars broke between us which fixed with a fight and ended with a conversation. Most of the time the conversations were unmatched and misunderstandings were everywhere. Six years passes us like a racing roller coaster, such a rush and unpredicted. But one thing for sure, we won't let of each others' hands.
There was a time we had our very first cold war, we were in our first and half year of long-distance relationship. James was obviously did a good job in his field that he indirectly ignored my messages for two days. After having three days of cold war, he apologized to me, such a good boy right? Then, in our second year, I was on his bad side. I ghosted him for four days. I thought he hadn't texted me back, I was about to get angry when I realized that I was the one who ignored him. But, I guess, it wasn't entirely my fault, he didn't even called me -- just kidding, it was my bad. He hung up on me when I called him. He picked up on the second try, still with the pouty tone. That was the first time I experienced his sulky side. Kinda cute, though.
"I've arrived," I am catching my breath while enjoying the night view. This is the hill near to the place I've been staying for three weeks. I hang up the telephone after hearing that he is climbing the stairs, mistakenly.
One minutes later, I am startled by him. "Why did you hang up?" he says while hugging me from behind.
"Did you run?" I feel his heart beating so fast. It normally takes a person two to three minutes to climb those endless stairs.
"I miss you," we're still standing in the same position. "How's your novel?" he asks. I am staying in Taiwan in order to clear my mind while finishing my latest story.
"It worked so well but I just can't find a way to end it. I guess I need a little bliss," I turn around, facing him.
"A little bliss?" ignoring the magnificent night view in front of him, he looks at me dearly. "Like__what?"
"Like this," I hug him real thight. "I want to stay like this forever."
"Can you not leave tomorrow?" he says while caressing my hair.
"What a waste of money," I giggle in his embrace.
"Do you remember nine years ago when you asked me what is love?"
I pull my self out and look into his eyes, "Sure, has you figure it out yet?"
Surprisingly, he shakes his head, "I still hasn't get the answer, but if I can make my own definition, I'm gonna say that the time when you want to be by herself forever, in spite of the fights they had," his eyes bewitch mine. I'm drowning in his eyes. "I want to come home knowing that you're waiting for me. I want to call you mine forever. Six years isn't easy for me, still it's an ecstasy for me."
I am not crying. I'm still waiting him to complete his sentence.
"Well," he continues. "How about this?" he mischievously takes the ring out of his pocket.
I stun. "Is this real?" my head is wandering around, suspeccting someone is making a prank.
"I am not pulling a joke, babe. Trust me," he is not falling to his one knee, but I know for sure that he seriously want me. "So__what do you think?"
After delaying for one second, I shyly show my beam, "Well, I think it's such a great idea!" I wink at him while laughing.
Under the full moon, in front of these dim lights, between the serene air, we make a promise to never give up on each other, forever.
The End
Thanks for your love and support :)
