I came to while coughing. Sand and dirt hung in clouds in the air as the scent of blood filled my nose. Grunting when I pushed myself to sit up, I felt my head throbbing as blood dripped from my forehead.
There were bodies all around me from shinobi killed by the debris and impact of the meteor hitting the ground. Using chakra to increase my sense of smell, I nearly gagged from all of the death and blood. Pushing through it, I looked for the people still alive and breathing.
So much of the 4th Company had been wiped out by Madara's attack. The Tsuchikage was still alive but only barely. Gaara and Temari were also alive but were low on chakra.
Standing up, I made my way to where the others were slowly gathering.
"Sayuri!" Gaara's voice carried through the dust clouds. "Sayuri!" He sounded worried and near panicking.
"Sayuri!" Temari was now shouting as well.
"You don't have to be so loud, I'm right here." I popped off while rubbing my ears since their loud voices only made my head hurt worse.
"You're injured." Gaara saw the blood going down my face.
"I'll be okay."
"Take some of my chakra to heal."
"I said I'll be okay. I still have chakra from the Kages I drained, and I plan on sinking my teeth into that Madara asshole." I replied, and Temari looked at me.
"Are you sure? We don't need you acting tough and getting killed because of it."
"Look me in the eye and ask me if I'm sure." I said as I wiped the blood from my forehead. The silver fur on my hand was smeared with red, and I turned to look in the direction Madara and the former Tsuchikage were standing. "Ginko....I want to try again." I muttered while sensing the chakra Madara was building for a Jutsu. "If I can get at least halfway, I think it'll be enough."
Ginko couldn't reply, but I knew they heard me as the ground rumbled beneath our feet. Giant roots burst from the sand around Madara while coiling and growing.
"Mokuton: Deep Forest Emergence!" Trees came speeding our way in a gigantic, rolling wall. I built up chakra while running toward it to put space between myself and the others.
Before the wood made impact, I tried using Bijuu Mode. It was another failed attempt, but I was closer than I'd ever been as I crouched and wrapped my tail around my legs to brace myself. I wasn't nearly as big as Ginko, but I had all of the necessary wolf parts even if it was highly unstable.
The branches crashed into my side and coiled upward as my body created a barrier in front of the Allied Shinobi. I dug my claws into the ground while baring my teeth in an effort to not fall. The growth slowed, and I began to snap my massive jaws to tear my way through the plants.
My claws turned the trees to splinters until the Jutsu stopped progressing entirely. I lost hold of the form I was in and quickly shrank back to normal size. I stumbled but managed to catch myself before I fell.
I felt if I had a few more tries, I could properly do Bijuu Mode. But it was still too unstable to test it out now unless I had no other option. Panting, I stood up straighter as my tail swayed.
The failed Bijuu Mode transformation had used up far more chakra than I'd like to admit, meaning I couldn't use it haphazardly.
"I'll fight him!" The Tsuchikage declared while now sitting up. He honestly looked like shit, covered in wounds and bleeding from one eye that was swollen shut, so I highly doubted he'd last long.
