I eventually forced my way through the barrier and found the Gedo Statue was physically stronger than I had expected. I knew it'd be strong with all of the Bijuu chakra it had, but I was barely leaving a scratch on the damn thing.
As the fight outside the barrier dragged on and the Gedo Statue continued to morph, I was becoming more frustrated. It seemed, since its shape continued to change, the damage I caused simply wasn't enough to stick. I was getting desperate.
Taking in a deep breath through my nose, I used the unstable Bijuu Mode and managed to rip off one of the forming tails. The chakra I lost from the unstable form I was able to get back by eating the chakra in the tail.
However, the Gedo Statue roared in pain and anger while swinging one of its arms. I was going to dodge, but I froze when I sensed Madara's chakra not too far away. What was he doing here?
How did he get past Gaara, Tsunade, and the other Kage? I felt my fur bristle as panic and fear set in. In a split second, I sought out their chakra.
It was faint. They were alive, but only barely.
And it was then that the Gedo Statue's hand crashed into me. I was sent flying with a yelp and hit the barrier. It shattered, and I continued to fly through the air. I lost my Bijuu Mode form and could see Madara was indeed here now.
'Sayuri!' Ginko yelled, and I landed in the trees. My body broke through numerous branches from how hard I'd been hit and each one hurt like a son-of-a-bitch. When I was finally on the ground, I didn't dare move at first.
"Ginko....what the fuck are we supposed to do?" I panted while closing my eyes. I could smell the kicked-up dirt and ripped grass around me as the Juubi's roar echoed over the landscape. "Gaara is-"
'Still alive. Focus on the fight at hand. If you don't stop the Juubi, nothing else will matter.'
"But you saw I could barely cause any damage without Bijuu Mode."
'Perhaps my form you're more familiar with would be better. You won't need size if you have the power to make up for it.'
"Won't I just get smacked around again?" I grunted while forcing myself to sit up.
'Your control over the Siver Wolf form is so unstable, it's lowering the speed and strength you should have. If you can stabilize the form, you'll get those back.'
"That's easier said than done."
'You can do it. I trained you for years, Sayuri. Don't be so pitiful.'
"Who are you calling pitiful?"
'You. Stop whining and get to work. They can buy you time to figure it out.'
"What makes you so sure?"
'Shut up and listen.' I could now hear Kurama's voice. 'As much as I dislike the stupid wolf, their power is undeniable. We need you to figure this out, Sayuri. Even Naruto has to some degree.'
"That sounded more like an insult." I muttered.
'It was.'
'Just hurry it up. We'll hold the battlefield here.' Kurama stated, and I ran a hand through my hair.
"So what should I focus on?"
'Me, obviously.' Ginko popped off, and I had the urge to hit them. 'I can shift forms, so this is naturally going to be harder for you. Just focus on what about me sticks out the most to you.' I softly sighed and sat crisscross with my hands together to build chakra. 'The texture of my fur, the color of my eyes, the sound of my voice. Whatever you need to get a clear image in your head, use. It doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough to stabilize.'
