Running through the cave, I glanced to the sides where Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura, and Chiyo were. We didn't stop until we hit the cavern, and we all froze at the scene before us.
A hunched-over Akatsuki was standing a few feet away from a blond one sitting on Gaara. The redhead was just lying there on the ground, unmoving despite the person sitting on him.
"Now....which one's the jinchuriki and which one's the chakra eater?"
"You creeps! I'll kill the both of you!" Naruto growled, his eyes turning red as his teeth turned into fangs.
"You must be the jinchuriki. Now....which one is the chakra eater?"
"Gaara! What're you doing sleeping so soundly in a place like that?!" Naruto screamed, and I was trying to get the cogs to turn in my head. I could smell Shukaku's chakra all over the cavern, however, I couldn't smell Gaara's. "Stand up! Gaara! Oi, Gaara! Are you listening?! Knock it off!"
"That's enough, Naruto! You should know...."
"That's right. You know, don't you?" The blond Akatsuki smiled. "That he's already long dead." He patted Gaara's cheek with the back of his hand, and that's when the cogs began to turn.
The air around me began to swirl as my eyes burned a bright amber. It felt as if fire was burning its way through my veins as chakra exploded out from my body. My breath was coming quick and heavy, and it was taking everything in my power not to attack.
"S-Sayuri...."
"Oh-ho? Are you a jinchuriki also? Zetsu didn't mention a second one." The blond grinned at me.
"The chakra eater." The hunched-over man stated, and the blond whistled.
"That's some power then."
"Get off him before I rip you to shreds." The growl in my chest was nearly shaking my entire body.
"Sayuri, you need to calm down." Kakashi warned.
"I'll calm down when they fuck off." I snarled before turning to the two Akatsuki now arguing. "Will you two shut the fuck up!"
"Aw, you're so angry! It's adorable." The blond threw something into the air that turned into a strange white bird that picked Gaara up. "See you around, my man!" The bird swallowed Gaara, and he flew away with him.
"Don't think you can run from me!" My fangs flashed as I spoke while darting after the giant bird. Jumping onto the shrine gate outside, I focused my chakra in my legs before jumping again into the sky.
"Oh, you're a springy one!" The blond grinned as I dug my claws into the bird's tail. It felt like clay beneath my hands, and I made sure I had a good grip on the creature. I bit down on its back. "Oi, what're you- Woah!" He stumbled when the bird shrank and fell a few feet. "Shit!" He hissed before throwing something at me.
Swinging to the other side, the little white balls missed and exploded in the air behind us. I bit at the bird again, drawing in the chakra making it fly and act alive. It shrank again, flapping its wings harder to stay in the air. More clay was thrown my way, and I barely dodged it.
"Why are you so protective of this jinchuriki, hmm? You're not even from the same village."
"He's my friend, you shit!" I dug my claws deeper into the bird.
"Then you'd be the only one. You know, no one actually tried to help him when I took him. Some people even looked relieved."
"Shut up!"
