User-friendly: 7.5/10
Damage: 6/10
Survivability: 10/10
Solo Showdown: 8.5/10 good pickI'd rate her 10 as a showdown Janet main, but Ik that's slightly biased.
Best build:
Gadget: Backstage pass (but honestly, the other one is amazing too)
Backstage pass is the winner because it has mobility and allows you to play aggressive even without super. Although the other one is also amazing for annoying people, stopping healing in a massive radius and forcing enemies hiding behind walls to move. I have to give the win to backstage pass because it's just better, but special mention to Drop the Bass for carrying me at power 7 to r25.Star power: Stage View
It's also winning by not much imo. Grass radius is amazing and you have a guarantee to land in a safe place rather than potentially have a camper ambush you, probably while at low health, and subsequently kill you. Vocal warm up makes it harder to dodge your attacks. In comparison, this is the best build for her, but I'm still using both gadgets (map dependent) and vocal warm up.
Gears: damage and speed/shield.
Janet is a very solid option in solos as long as you know how to play. (Bellen pushed her to 3992 in solo only 👍 respect) She doesn't look like she deals a lot of damage but her attack pierces through enemies. Six hits to charge the super or 12 bomb hits from super to charge super. Thus, it is very possible to cycle your super in endgames.
Super: you FLY
A seven sec buff to your movement speed and invincibility from any coming attacks (you can also bomb people on the way for super charge and chip damage), although you can't heal/reload during air time. There are two ways to use the super. In general, I team with anyone that can't outrange me and shamelessly use them for super, and then act friendly for the rest of the match. You're essentially untouchable (except Otis, who counters you.). Most games I find I don't even need to use it, they just look at my charged super and don't attack me. That seven sec long super also means that you can often grasp second or even first place in endgames (although be aware that you still take damage from the storm during airtime).
Although she does have a few weaknesses that you might wanna take notice of.
- you have to find a safe place to land if you're flying with low hp, otherwise you'll die.
- backstage pass might backfire if you aim in a panic (and launch yourself into the smoke/ someone else)Otis
Your worst enemy. Or at least the super. People using Otis will likely be inclined to kill you. You're weak without the super, you're not a tank, and killing you would be eliminating an early threat. Just get away from Otis at all costs. If you get hit by that deadly super, you can't use your save me button, which will cost you your game. How to team:
Pretty much anything except Otis, Max, Surge and Gale are viable. Most open maps work for her, like Scorched Stone or Double trouble.
Scorched Stone:
I mainly push her on this map. Pretty early supers. You can even go mid for powercubes since you can use backstage pass to escape by jumping over the water. Just don't jump if there's someone.Double Trouble:
Open map. Maps like these generally have a more diverse amount of brawlers (except max meta) and they are pretty good to team with. Energy drink will make you able to kill pretty much anything that doesn't have a massive cube advantage. As a plus, not much people play tanks here so it's not hard for you to kill someone.UPDATE: APPARENTLY JANET META IS HAPPENING ON LUSH POLES!! :D
If you are pushing on Lush Poles, definitely use drop the bass for scouting. I advise you to rush mid for cubes and team with Janets. Preferably get rid of tanks early game.
Avoid:
Things that can kill you before you take off.
(Like OTIS)She deals 1400 damage per shot at power9 and 1500 per shot at power11 (1800 with damage gear). Solid, and she doesn't have bad reload speed so you can unload a lot on people.
How to counter:
She's in general not much of a problem unless she can three shot you. Super is very defensive. Most Janets will want to team and charge super immediately, which is fine unless she looks like she has murderous intent.Dominating/ leading brawler:
You can pick off people that can't stop your super and that you can three shot without taking too much damage. If it's not you, you're free to stay close as a tank. If not, keep the distance. Most Janets are pretty passive from what I've seen. Try to help them get the kills if it isn't at a risk of dying, they will likely spare you at the end.
Metas
Janet is pretty uncommon and there will be 1-2 Janets per lobby max. Most of the time she won't even be there. However, Janets will charge their supers off each other (and also commonly backstab each other while doing it).
