Cyrene woke up early due to her anticipation for Charms Class. She walked towards the East Towers where the Charms classroom was located. She felt tired even after her breakfast. Hogwarts was a very large castle and she had to walk some flights of stairs to get to class.
At last, she reached a classroom next to a picture with a girl in a dress. The girl in the frame smiled as Cyrene walked by. Moving pictures were a normal thing in the wizarding world.
She walked towards tiny Professor Flitwick, who was standing on a table with a pile of books on top.
'Pleased to meet you, Professor Flitwick. I'm really looking forward to Charms.' Cyrene introduced herself.
'You're Miss Lennox! If you're anything like your brother, you will do just fine. He was one of my most skilled students.' said Professor Flitwick. 'That being said, he was also one of my most rebellious students.' Cyrene felt a mixture of emotions at these words.
'Are you going to follow the rules?' Professor Flitwick asked with a serious voice.
'I'm only here to learn, Professor. I don't want to start any trouble.' said Cyrene. She felt bad for lying to her professor on the first day of class, but part of her answer was true as well. The main reason she was at Hogwarts was for her education.
'Very well, Miss Lennox. Please have a seat. Class is about to begin.' said Professor Flitwick.
Charms Class was exactly how Cyrene expected it to be. They learnt the Wand-Lighting Charm, Lumos.
At the end of the lesson, Cyrene tried the Wand-Lighting Charm herself.
'Lumos!'
A bright blue light shone at the tip of her wand. Rowan clapped and the whole class looked at Cyrene's successful spell.
'Well done, Miss Lennox. That's the best execution of the Wand-Lighting Charm I've seen from a first-year in quite some time.' Professor Flitwick beamed. 'Ten points to Hufflepuff.'
'Nice work, Cyrene! I read everything I could find on the Wand-Lighting Charm, and yours was still better. You're a natural.' said Rowan. 'You already gotten House Points! You said you want to learn from the other Hufflepuffs, but I think we could all learn something from you.'
Cyrene was glad she had a good first start at her lessons, but then remembered her next class, Potions. The Potions Master, Professor Snape, also Slytherin's Head of House, tend to favor students from his house more than anyone. 'Potions is next, I have a feeling facing Snape won't be so easy...' she said.

Cyrene went down to the dungeons for her first potions class. The dungeons were dark and only lit by a few torches emitting green light. She walked towards the potions classroom but saw Rowan and the sly looking Slytherin girl from the Sorting at the entrance, blocking her way.
'Wait, is that Rowan?' Cyrene asked herself. She walked closer to them.
'...Admit it!' said the Slytherin girl.
'I can't!' said Rowan.
'Say I'm the most powerful witch at Hogwarts!'
Cyrene walked towards them and stopped in between the two girls.
'It's logically impossible! I've made numerous lists of the most powerful witches at Hogwarts based on multiple factors.' said Rowan. 'You're less powerful than Professor Mcgonagall, Professor Sprout, Madam Hooch, Madam Pomfrey, every single seventh-year...' she continued. 'You're just a first-year just like me!'
