"About what she said," Matt started, "about how I'm a fan, she's right. I am a fan. But I'm not hanging with you just to use you or anything! I really like hanging out with you and I hope nothing changes."
Matt's eyes were glued to his lap, predicting what horrible reality he'll have to embrace inevitably.
"Matt?" Their eyes met, his heart sinking when Felicity's eyes darted away and broke contact.
"I know."
"What?"
Felicity smiled shyly and shrugged, "I know you're a fan."
Matt stared at her in confusion. She's known?
"Finn sent me the video of you talking about me. You do know that I'm the one who invited you to the Ultraviolence release party, right? I know you're a fan."
He sunk his head into his palms and groaned, both in relief they were fine and in embarrassment that she'd actually seen the video.
She's never gonna see it so it's fine to refer to her by name, Nick reassured him again and again. Matt was the one at fault, though. It was wrong of him to assume Nick would be correct.
Her laughter soothed him, they were fine and that was all that mattered.
"But when you asked me if I was a creepy fan for knowing your songs?"
"I was joking!" Felicity grabbed his hands and held them between hers, "You made me want to stay at a party longer! Even Juliette and Finn can't do that!"
Matt exhaled, finally allowing his heart to calm down.
"Whatever this is, Felicity, I just want you to know I'm all in. So what should we get for dinner? I don't know why but I can't stop thinking about lobster."
