Malfoy Manor

When Albus Dumbledore had come to get Tom Riddle, the boy had just finished receiving his owl and his wand. The dark haired young wizard was standing next to a young blonde outside of Ollivander's. He was holding his wand, admiring it with something akin to pride. But Albus was not happy. The blonde, was Abraxas Malfoy. Heir to the Malfoy name and fortune and born in an obviously dark family. As most purebloods were. Tom was already in a bad situation, coupled with a dark wizard as a friend, would not be good in the long run.

Albus knew from the way Tom's magic felt, that he could end up going down the same path as Gellert Grindelwald, his old friend who he was still attempting to get rid of.

Upon noticing Albus, Abraxas schooled his expression and Tom looked up his own expression just as blank as it had been before Albus left. "Tom, I see you've met Heir Malfoy." he smiled, trying to keep the edge out of his tone but Tom noticed. "I have. He's been telling me more about the wizarding world." said the boy and Albus hummed. "That's good. But we must be getting you home. I see you've got your supplies, I'll help you carry them." he said and Tom shook his head. "Actually professor, I'm going to be staying with the Malfoys." said Tom, Dumbledore frowning at this.

"Tom you can't-"

"I can. It's abiding by your very own laws. Abraxas mentioned that because I am the last sane heir to the Gaunt name, Lord Gaunt has been given to me. Therefore I can live wherever I choose. And I choose to stay with Abraxas and his family." interrupted Tom much to Albus' annoyance. He had only been the young Malfoy's presence for an hour at most and he already sounded like one of the haughty purebloods. "Is that truly what you want Tom?" he sighed and Tom nodded once. "It is."

Dumbledore wanted to protest further but at that very moment, Enceladus Malfoy had appeared.

The elder Malfoy was a tall, handsome man with aristocratic features and neck length blonde near white hair. His brows were furrowed and his silver grey eyes untrusting as he strode up to the trio, standing beside his son. That day he was dressed in a black cloak over a silver and black vest with black trousers and snakeskin boots. He held a black cane in his left hand, several different lordship and heir rings dotting his lithe fingers. He did not know Tom but he also did not like Albus Dumbledore so he merely ignored the boy for now.

"Dumbledore. What is it that you want with my son?" came his deep voice and the professor cleared his throat. "Abraxas has just informed me that the boy beside him, would be staying with you two. I doubt he asked permission first." he replied with a smile and Enceladus looked between the boys, then locked eyes with his son. "Abraxas never does anything for a foolish reason." he stated and his son nodded. "I would never. This is Tom Riddle, he's heir to the Gaunt and Slytherin names. He's a half-blood and had no idea who he was before." explained Abraxas to which Enceladus' brows shot up.

Though the Gaunt name had been steadily declining for decades, Tom was fresh blood. Though half-blood, from the feel of his magic alone he was no ordinary child.

"I see and you are comfortable with my son, Tom?" he asked slowly as he looked the young boy over. It was very obvious Tom had been abused. Though he was a young wizard, he could not hide how pale and skinny he was. His eyes were tired and his body was tense, he was on guard. He did not trust any of them but he seemed fairly okay with Abraxas and Enceladus became livid. Magical children should always be protected. He did not particularly like muggleborns but, he did not wish death on the children.
