Somehow Jyn didn't like the situation. Not at all. It was quiet. Much too quiet. Which was perfectly understandable when a city was extinct and seemed all but empty, but, it was this strange kind of quiet. That uncomfortable calm. The calm before the storm.

Behind a car, Flag and the Bravo team leader, Edwards, took position and observed the situation. How nice that the two of them talked everything over with each other and kept everyone else, in the dark. That's exactly how a team does it. Two people know about everything, and the rest, die thanks to cluelessness. After their conversation, Edwards sent his people away and they swarmed down the side street. The fewer people, the better. There was nothing to fear.

Already alone, because the constant outside, enormously went against the grain, Jyn pushed past Croc and Harley and went over to Edwards and Flag. Slowly it was time for some answers. Real ones, and no dodging or beating around the bush. She had a right to know what was really going on, especially since her life was involved. Next to Edwards, Jyn raised both hands to help Flag calm down. As for Edwards, it didn't seem to matter whether she had anything in her hand or not.

"Yeah? Good," after Flag's, is fine nod, Jyn took her hands back down and placed them on the edge of the car's roof, "A terrorist attack then, yes?"

Not even remotely. This terrorist attack, this so-called terrorist attack, was actually an alien takeover...... Mutations..... Zombies..... Mutations. Whatever. By beings or things just. In any case, these were not human beings. In a very distant sense, these things showed, in some respects, human-like looking traits. But that was very, very far-fetched.

Deadshot also came over to them now, wanting answers at last. Behind her, Jyn heard someone draw a blade. It must have belonged to Katana. Instead of answering Deadshot's question about what these things were, Flag just told him that if it fucked off, he'd blow him up. How inventive. Flag had no other threat. Well, that hadn't been the answer to the latter's question. Hey, she'd already gotten info number three.

Reflexively, Jyn drew two of her knives just as Deadshot raised his rifle and Flag readied himself to fire. The rain of bullets began only a few seconds later, as a horde of things rushed at the troops. Hundreds of empty shell casings fell to the ground, jingling. Paved the street. Do you prepare for something like that? No. Would you have? Yes, when all at once there was talk. The first thing grabbed Jyn by the skull and slammed him full force onto a hood. Quite a thick skull. A second one she pressed a knife into its temple and pulled it out in disgust. Disgusting, these things were all just disgusting. Swollen heads covered with warts or something similar. Just disgusting. The next one she pressed both knives into the neck and pulled them apart crosswise. No blood..... no blood? Indeed, these things could not bleed. A cursory glance to the side revealed that the others were just as busy. Harley was crushing skulls, Croc was crushing skulls, and the little firebug wasn't doing anything.....! The One, with powers, stayed out of it. Even Boomerang threw one a help. Two more of the things she threw the knives in the forehead, pulled the gun and shot the next where the right eye should have been. Like a balloon..... Not quite. Their heads shattered like a mirror breaking into a thousand shards. If this went on much longer, she would soon run out of bullets.

How fast were these critters? One thing led to another and a group of these things had grabbed Flag and were about to drag him away. For Harley, a reason to rejoice, but Deadshot reminded her that if Flag dies, so will the squad. Thank you. Finally someone remembered. Better late than never and still in time. Nevertheless, Harley's good mood was gone right away. Frustrated, she pulled herself together, helped Flag get rid of the things and even helped her get up. Miracles really did still happen in this world. A normal human gesture. Quite unexpected.

If Deadshot hadn't taken care of a lot of those things right at the beginning, sure, for sure, a few more of the Seal's would be dead now. This guy could handle firearms, there was nothing to it. Better than many a soldier would have to.
Pretty early on Flag mentioned that these things used to be real people. Great. An epidemic was just what they were missing. People who mutated into some kind of beings. If there was nothing else better?

There was one highlight in all the chaos, though. Namely, when Harley stopped at a store, lashed out with her baseball bat, and smashed the store window to grab a small purse. A handbag. How exceedingly important at the present moment. At the clink of the window, Flag abruptly turned around with his gun raised and looked at Harley, aghast.

"Seriously," stunned by Harley's behavior, Flag had to snap right back at her, "what the hell is wrong with you guys?"

"We're the bad guys," Harley replied, because it was perfectly obvious and nothing unusual about it, "We just do."

Well. Well, however you take it. The only thing worth noticing about this action was Flag's expression.
