Chapter 2: Effect

After an hour of Aurora explaining what was going to happen for the next couple of weeks, everything regarding media and press, everybody left the conference room, Charles and Carlos went downstairs to the garage while Aurora started setting up at her office. She was sitting in front of her computer when her phone rang, it was a video call from her parents.

(conversation in Italian)

-Hi papa, hi mama, how are you guys doing?-

-We are great, sweetheart. How is the paddock treating you?- her dad asked

-Great, dad, I met the new driver, he's really funny just like Charles.-

-Oh, Sainz, right? He's hot.- her mom joked

-Mom, don't start with that. You know what I think about dating.-

-You have to stop being so hard on yourself, you are professional and you are doing a great job.-

-Thanks, dad.-

-But sweetie, you can't be afraid of meeting a guy and falling in love.-

-I'm sorry but I'm not in the mood to talk about this. I need to go back to work, I'll call you later.- she said before hanging up

-You know, they are right.-

-What are you doing here?-

-You were supposed to meet us five minutes ago.- Charles said

-Right, let's go. I'm sorry I lost track of time.- she said to Charles just as Carlos was approaching them.

-Ok, guys, we need some pictures of both of you together and a teaser for the project we are launching next week.

-Ok, where do you want us?- Carlos asked and Aurora smiled at how sweet he was.

-Have you seen the photographer? He was supposed to be taking photos all around the garage, god nothing can go well today.- she said frustrated.

-Rory, calm down. I'm sure he's around somewhere.- Charles said and Carlos tensed up at the nickname.

-Rory?- the Spanish guy asked and a shiver run down Aurora's spine.

-Yeah?- she said trying to not seem affected by him

-I'm sorry, why are you, Rory?-

-Oh, my name is Aurora.- she said with a hint of sadness in her voice.

-I need to take this call, I'll be back in no time.- Charles said and left the two alone

-Beautiful name.- he said standing right behind her

-Sorry, that was Charlotte.- Charles said before Aurora could answer Carlos's comment.

-How is she? How is it going between you too?- Aurora asked

-Charlotte, is she your girlfriend?- Sainz asked

-You haven't talked at all you too, right? He can't go more than fifteen minutes without talking about Charlotte.- Aurora joked

-Believe me, mate, if you had a girl that beautiful, you wouldn't stop talking about her.- Charles said as soon as the photographer was walking towards them.

-I'm sure I wouldn't.- he whispered looking straight at Aurora.

-Sorry for the delay, I had some issues with the camera.- the photographer said.

-It's fine, you are here now. We need to get started, so guys, would you please pose in front of the garage?- Aurora instructed them and they started to pose and took photos solo and then, both of them together.

-Can we get one with you?- Carlos asked, surprising Charles and Aurora.

-Sure.- she said before posing with both of them and then just with Charles and another one just with Carlos.

-Ok, that's it. We will do the teaser tomorrow, due to the light. I'll see you guys tomorrow, get some rest.- she said before saying goodbye and walking towards her office.

-Aurora, wait.- Carlos said

-Yeah?-

-Want to have dinner with me?-
