"Okay, if nobody is going to do it then I'll ask." Mo said in annoyance, watching as his friends turned to him in surprise. "What the hell is going on with Pat?"

It had been quite a while since their friend had started acting weird but none of them had really had the courage to ask about it, knowing Pat would most likely lie to them anyway. There was this weird happiness surrounding him which was very odd to see. Not that Pat wasn't usually happy. But this was different, it was in his eyes. They were just sparkling in a way they had never seen on their friend. He was literally glowing.

"I say he has a girlfriend." Chang spoke up first and Mo nodded along.

"Maybe." he agreed but Korn shook his head with uncertainty.

"Mh, I don't know," he said. "I saw Pat when he had a girlfriend. That is not how he acts. It's not that." he disagreed, taking a bite out of his sandwich as he looked at his friends trying to figure out what it could be.

"Maybe he really likes this one...?" Chang hypothesised but it didn't seem to convince any of them.

"Or,” Mo said as a new idea popped up in his mind. "it's a guy."

"What guy?"

"The person Pat is dating, dumbass." Mo replied, slapping the back of Chang's head. "Maybe the person Pat is dating is a dude." and as he finished speaking, Chang and Korn bursted out laughing. As they slowly calmed down, they wiped their tears as they did so and shook their heads.

"Pat is not gay, Mo." Chang chuckled, holding back from having another laughing fit.

"How do you know?"

"He likes girls too much for that." Chang snickered. "There's just no way."

"Plus, don't you think we'd know by now if he was?" Korn said and Mo looked at his two friends, not a trace of laughter on his face as he eyed them both.

"Maybe he didn't tell us because he knew you'd laugh to his face." he snapped back, feeling extremely annoyed with his friends' reaction. He didn't think they would be so quick to assume and judge someone's preferences much less their best friend's. Not feeling like hanging out with them any longer, Mo stood up and walked away, leaving his friends alone at the street food truck's picnic table.

"Mo!" Korn called in surprise and confusion. "Wait, come back, Mo! Mo!" he said again but it was useless. "We didn't mean it like that." he said more to himself than anybody else and Chang nodded his head even though Mo wasn't there to see it. "What was that about?"

"I don't know.." Chang sighed before sipping on his cold drink. "I think we just made ourselves look like real assholes there."

"Yeah..fucking great, now he's mad at us." Korn cursed, brushing his hand through his hair before tying it up with the hair tie wrapped around his wrist. "Do you think it's possible that Pat's dating a dude?"

"I've no idea...I didn't think he did. But now that Mo said that...maybe Pat was just hiding it because he was scared of being judged.."

"But Pat never cared about that before." Korn said in frustration. "He always did whatever the hell he wanted without thinking about our reactions. So, why would he care now?"

“I don’t know, man..” Chang sighed as he tried to figure this out.

“I don’t think he’s dating a guy.” Korn said after a while and Chang scrunched his face up in doubt.

“Well, why wouldn’t he just show off his girlfriend to us then?” Chang asked and Korn had to admit this was a pretty good point.

"I..I don't know." Korn mumbled, feeling like the crappiest of friends as he tried to recall a time in which he could have made Pat doubt them.
