It had been a pretty nice day at first.
It was the hottest day in a while and everyone could be seen either sunbathing or taking a walk with their partner.
Pat had decided to spend some time with his boyfriend and had entered Pran's dorm to see the boy working on some drawings of his. Most likely a project for class, Pat gathered and he sighed as he knew Pran had probably been working on it for a while now.
Thinking that it would be nice to go out, Pat had tried to talk Pran into taking a walk out in the sun with him but in vain, Pran didn't want to stop working.
It was always the same.
Pat comes to spend some quality time with the person he loves only for every attempt at being sweet and affectionate to be shut down.
What was so hard about spending time together?
Pat knew Pran didn't mean to do this. He was just way too focused on university to be thinking about anything else which wasn't related to art.
But apparently, that meant neglecting his relationship with Pat which they were taking great risks for. They could be ruining their relationship with their parents by being a couple and yet they had still taken the risk.
So why was Pran not enjoying it while it lasted?
Pat was craving for the other's attention. All he wanted to do was spend time together, doing everything but working on stupid projects after projects or studying for exams.
He was tired of having to sit down and study for hours without end because it was the only way to have Pran to himself.
Because, if Pran wasn’t studying or doing school work, he was hanging out with his friends. But if he wasn't hanging out with his friends, he was studying.
Where did Pat fit in all of this?
Nowadays, Pat was thinking that he actually had no place in Pran's life.
Perhaps he had been mistaken and Pran had agreed to date him only for Pat to get off his back.
There was no romance to their relationship.
No dates, no cuddles, no hugs, barely any kisses. There were no sweet gestures, no romantic words, no 'I love you's.
Nothing.
It was like Pat was still categorised as a friend.
And yet, here he was, sitting next to Pran on the floor, studying because Pran had refused to take a walk with Pat and this was the only opportunity for Pat to spend time with Pran.
They had been at it for over two hours, Pat taking this time to allow his doubts and worries about his relationship's future to get the best of him, when it happened.
Pran had stood up to get a glass of water, stretching his back and taking a step forward only to walk over Pat's project presentation, involuntarily tearing a few pages as he nearly fell down.
"Are you kidding me!" Pat roared in fury as he stared at the torn papers scattered on the floor in disbelief before looking up at a guilty looking Pran.
"I'm sorry, Pat." Pran replied. He hadn't meant to step on the stack of papers. He hadn't been looking where he was stepping.
It was natural for Pat to be mad, Pran knew that, however, he couldn't help but be surprised at how angry the other really was.
"Look at it, Pran!" Pat yelled as took the papers in his hands and showed them to Pran. "Fucking look at it! I spent hours doing this! It's ruined!"
