Hours had gone by, and Anthony would be flying the carrack back to the Hammerheads landing site, flying low so no satellites could track the ship. He would fly past the wreckage of the bombing made by the A2's and open the ramp as he landed. Everyone filing out and running over to the hammerhead which stood all in one piece still. Thatcher was starting up the ship while Anthony started up the self destruct sequence, running out of the ship and up the ramp of the hammerhead as I started to take off. The crew all looked out the ramp exit, watching the ship blow up in the distance. The ramp began to close as the ship flew up and out of orbit. Anthony would tap Leo's shoulder, he would look over at him.
"Thank you for the help back there, in fact I thank all of you.. this is the most alive I've felt doing anything these days. I know to some of you I'm still an enemy, but in the end I'm gonna make sure we all get out of this in one piece." Anthony would say. Marigold would nod to him, but then Leo would chime in.
"You might be pulling your weight around here, but your debts won't be paid not even after Jumptown. You've killed people I'm closest to.."
"And I'm sorry, but it was all in the name of defending cargo. It was my job." Anthony said back to him, there being a moment of silence before Leo would walk over to his bag, digging around in it.
"Y'know over at Grim Hex, we have a form of punishment for those who swap sides.. a symbol we brand them with to show that they were once our enemy." Leo said as he pulled out a rod with a symbol at the end of it. He turned to Anthony and slowly made his way over.
"When all of this is said and done, you must bear this symbol for the rest of your life.. for we cannot allow someone to walk among us without showing a symbol of what they've done to our people." Leo continued, looking Anthony in the eyes.
"Just say the word and I'll bear the symbol.. right now we must focus on getting to Jumptown." Anthony would say. Leo nods and walks back, putting the rod away as Thatcher would come down. He stood in front of his crew, his arm bleeding as he held the skeleton key in his other hand.
"So.. seems we have some things needed to be discussed.. and I must start by apologizing to all of you. I wanted to start a new life and have it be amongst all of you, but seems the past always comes back to bite you in the ass." Thatcher set the Skeleton Key down and grabbed a medgun, aiming it at his wound and would continue.
"I will not ask any of you to continue on, which is why now would be the right time to back out of all this.. Leave before you get knee deep in my mess.. none of you deserve to fall due to my past actions.. if you plan to leave, please remove your Black Nebula patches." He would say, groaning a bit from his wound. Everyone would look around at each other, thinking to themselves. The silence lasted a long while, Thatcher looking them over as if he knew no one wanted to end up dead with Calico. The silence was soon broken.
"I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we've come this far to know that our captain is one we can honor enough to stand by him. We are with you till the end Davis, no backing down.. if we have to we will help you take down Porter at all costs." Marigold would say with confidence, Leo and Anthony nodding in agreement before Thatcher would slowly smile at them all.
"Then allow me to introduce you all to your new uniform armor for the crew." Thatcher said as he put the med gun down, walking over and pressing a button that opened a hole in the wall to a special room. Inside stood what almost looked like a museum section for Calico's old crew armor pieces along with guns galore and ammo. Everyone walked in, looking the armors over. Thatcher walked in behind and looked up at his behind the glass wall of the case.
"I assume you all will find the armor that best suits you.. get suited up and we will discuss further plans." Thatcher said as he pressed a button that opened the cases, the armors now fully accessible to them. Leo stood by a Microid battle armor set, Marigold was looking over a Hurston Security Executive armor set, and Anthony was face to face with an Inquisitor armor set. They would all go off and get armored up, soon meeting back up where Thatcher stood and looked them all over with a grin.
"My goodness boys and girls, it's like I've gone back in time. You all rock those armor sets well!" Thatcher exclaimed.
"It's crazy to think we are wearing the armor of legends currently as we speak." Marigold said, looking down at her armor. Thatcher chuckles and sits down on a chair.
"Now listen up! This is the moment we've fought hard to reach. Jump town is closing in and we gotta make sure we get in and out with our score." Thatcher said.
"And if Porter shows up?" Leo asked. Thatchers grin would turn into a look of anger.
"Then we make sure we avenge our boy James, understand?"
"Yes sir!" They all yelled. Thatcher stood up and put his helmet on, the right eye blinking on with the color of yellow at first before turning to a solid red.
"So Thatcher, do we-" Anthony was cut off by Thatcher, his finger raising up at him and wagging. They all were now looking at the captain, confused as to what he was doing.
"Today, Thatcher is no more.. he's a cowardly mask I've destroyed.. today, Calico is reborn.. from now on you will call me by that name.." he would state to the crew.
"Alright then Calico, lead the way to victory" Anthony said.
