Mia’s POV:
I reluctantly pulled my clothes out. As soon as I entered the pond a breath released from my lips. It was refreshing, cool water embracing me. I dipped my head inside and out letting the water wash over me. I changed back into the clothes he offered me. They weren’t exactly for my size but still, it was enough. Should I try to escape? But he’ll chase me anyway and who knows what he will do to me then. I rubbed my arms and went towards the cabin I’d been staying in. As I made my way I found him leaning against the cabin’s wall. His eyes closed and wings rested at either side. Sun rays cast on his features, his leaned body, and his bulky arms. Ethereal!. His eyes opened at my footsteps. Did he trust me that I’ll be back? Or was it he was overly confident about himself? His eyes met mine and there was warmness that I felt in them. Really?
I was cold but now Suddenly I felt warmer. Blood rushed inside my existence. His lips parted and his eyes stilled on mine. He didn’t say anything and I had nothing to say either so I went inside the cabin. I rested my hand on my heart. It was pumping rapidly. He is beautiful there’s no lie. When his eyes were locked on me I felt my knees weak as I would lose my balance anytime. I’ve never been like this before. His eyes! There was something about them. Intense, empty yet captivating. Sometimes I feel a glimpse of pain akin to mine in his eyes. As if he can understand me, as if he will understand my loneliness, my helplessness. But no matter what I think, the fact is ‘He’s a monster'.

The downpour started and I was soaking wet. Since the ceiling was opened. A cool breeze wafted through the night. There was no corner where the rain couldn’t reach. I felt cold suffusing my whole body. I was shivering. I sat down with my legs stuck together to my chest. I felt the raindrops vanishing. Perplexed I looked up. He was covering the ceiling with large leaves. And when I say large I meant it. After covering the ceiling he came inside with a pile of wood in his hands. Everything was happening very fast that I didn’t even realize it when he fired the fire pit and turned to me. He blew fire out of his palm. I was stupefied for a moment forgetting my coldness. The fire felt like heaven and a groan left my lips.
“Lay in front of it, It will provide you warmth”. Instead of being skeptic I did what was needed to be done to tend myself. I lay Infront of the fire pit. It indeed was warming. I brought my knees closer. I was still cold but the fire did help wear off the cold a bit. I saw a duvet dropping out on me and my eyes met his. His gaze locked on mine but he looked away. I was too cold to say anything and I felt him sitting on the bed. I felt uncomfortable but maybe on rainy days, he use this house as a shelter. I don’t wanna be selfish for some reason. I Felt weakness inside so I let it take me into a deep slumber.

Today was another boring gloomy day. It's been two days since the rain. It was an unexpected downpour that caught us both off guard. Now the sun was scorchingly bright and even though I like peace. But this silence was eating me up. I felt sick being trapped. It was sickening as if this sickness was again plaguing me. The worst is that I was preferring my previous life. It was better than this cage. This thought was what appalled me. I paced around the room trying to find any kind of amusement here, to conjure up anything which would make me happy and hopeful. After losing my patience I finally vent out my pent-up frustration. I marched towards the door banging it with full force.
"What’s wrong?” A voice came from behind me and I jumped out. My hand immediately flew to my chest. I calmed my racing heart before throwing a glare at him.
“Gosh, you don’t have to be like this every time. It can give someone a heart attack.” My body went rigid with the tone of my voice. I raised my voice at him. Now I was scared for my life. I gulped down the fear but when I looked at his eyes he had a weird fascination in them. For the first time, I saw a glint of Emotion in his empty eyes that weren’t loneliness or anger. But a pure fascination. Come to think of it, I just noticed his eyes from this close up. His crimson eyes were scary yet fascinating in an odd way. And now the sudden bliss in his placid eyes was indeed an intriguing sight. I reverted my eyes from him. My heart galloped even though I wasn’t scared. Since the downpour night, I had been having these tepid feelings whenever I notice him through another vision. Not a scary one but a yearning soul. I brushed my thoughts off. I’m being delusional nothing else. Clearing my throat I voiced out.
“I want to go outside and want to inhale natural air.” I noticed his features getting hardened. Something in his eyes shifted and he pinned me with his, ‘don’t you dare’ look.
“No! The air does waft through this open ceiling and you can inhale as much air as you want.” I protested and reasoned with him.

We walked through the canopy of trees. My torn footwear was replaced with a more comfortable one. I inhaled the fresh scent of flowers and nature. This is what I was asking for. I beamed and looked at him.
"See, isn't it so refreshing" His lips twitched and he looked away. It was already hard to focus my eyes on him when his face and bare muscles were glowing under the sun rays casting on him. Heat suffused my cheeks and I turned away. I released a silent breath. He was very close to me. His masculine scent with a mixture of wood wasn't helping at all. It was hard to convince him to let me stroll around but after arguing for like an hour he finally agreed but insisted, more like ordering for himself to be accompanied by me which I thought I wouldn't mind but it's not working. Cause I do mind it. It's intriguing. He didn't feel like the one who threatened to kill me the very first day.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked. He inspected me for a moment before nodding.
"So what exactly are you? I mean I haven't seen any creature like you. You know human figure with…wings" I said pointing towards his wings. His brow furrowed together.
"Haven't you heard about the faes? The Angels, the demons." He asked perplexed. I do know about the Angels and demons but they're not supposed to be here, aren't they?
"I did read about them when I was a kid but they both belong to their places like the Angels recedes in heaven and demons in hell isn't it?" He bobbed his head.
(A/N: Every detail is just a made up information of my mind and it doesn't intend to harm any history or anything.)
"Thousand years ago there was an angel, Rosaline who lived in heaven, and a demon Eliot. Nature should be balanced was what they had been taught. Nature creates a balance and if you go against nature, nature goes against you".
"Love is a leap of faith and before they knew their love for each other took that leap and went against nature. The result of it was war between those two realms. After losing a lot they decided to banish them from their kingdoms and gave them the punishment of living in the mortal world. 'The earth'. Rosaline was the first to fall on the earth and Eliot came after his lover. That's why she's called the fallen angel."
“The faes are known to be fallen angels because we're her descendants. She and her lover resided in the forest and welcomed all the other creatures who were exiled and shunned. She built a kingdom and birthed children. I don't know more of that but one that when she died she'd been buried under a tree and Eliot died the same day from the loss of his love and been buried with her."
“The God of love himself witnessed their true love and hence blessed that very tree they'd been buried, into an epitome of true love and trapped their souls in it." I looked at his eyes, overwhelmed by such amazing history of true love, and saw his eyes glinting when he narrated the whole story.
"Where's that tree?" Curiously I asked. I watched those same glinting eyes turn darker. I didn't realize what wrong I said. He drew a sharp breath. “What’s the story of that scar?” I uttered in an attempt to steer the conversation. He abruptly stopped. I can’t quite name it but something shifted, in him, between us. His eyes gave me the impression as they bore intently into mine. His crimson eyes slithered from my eyes to down my wrist. I got the urge to hide them in the layers of my gown.
“What’s the story of your scars?” It took me off guard. How? When? When did he notice my scars that already blended with my skin? I hesitated, It was a part of my side I’ve never confined anyone with it. An Unkempt part of me, taking refuge in my body, My battles at night, Old stories bring old memories back and those old memories tear open those old wounds again, completely disturbing the healing process of it.
“I don’t wanna answer it,” I uttered. “Neither do I,” He said. I nodded and silenced myself. It’s only fair. If I’m not confiding in him then I shouldn’t expect the same from him. We both walk in complete silence. None of us dared to utter a single word. Complete solicited. It’s better this way. Nor I’ll question him neither he’ll in return.
We’re not close. He’s just my captor who kept me here without my consent. Yes! This is it.
Right?
