Narrator's POV
It took Lauren three days to contact Camila. She sent a message to Camila, asking Camila if Camila wanted to stay over at her place on Saturday night. Camila surely wanted to. She had been missing Lauren since she was in New York. She could not wait to meet her girlfriend again. Camila showed up at Lauren's place in the late afternoon after visiting her mother and going out with her public boyfriend.
"Hi!" Camila greeted Lauren as Lauren opened the door.
Lauren smiled, but it was not a full smile. They hugged as the door closed.
"I missed you!" Camila snuggled up against Lauren's neck and hugged her close.
Lauren did not say anything. She just engulfed Camila. She surely missed Camila, too. They stayed, hugging each other in silence for a while, sharing their warmth and telling each other through their hugs how much they missed each other. They did not want to fight, but sometimes it was inevitable in a relationship. They kissed for a while before they went to the dining room for dinner.
Caressing Camila's head while watching tv, Lauren was lost in her thoughts. She did not follow the movie that played on the screen. Lauren could not figure out why Camila's new public boyfriend made her worried. Whether it was her jealousy getting the best of her or the fear of losing Camila, she did not like this feeling. She could get jealous easily in a relationship, but she always got jealous and got over it soon. She did not know why this time it got her so bad.
"Hey..." Camila softly called Lauren, who did not answer her when she asked her about the movie.
"Yeah?" She realized it when Camila touched her lips.
"What are you thinking about?" Camila was a little worried that something was still bothering Lauren. They just got over their fight. She hoped nothing left unspoken or unsatisfied.
"No... just a random thing," Lauren said and smiled at her girlfriend.
Camila could tell Lauren did not tell the truth. She sat on Lauren's lap, facing her, caressing her face. "What's bothering you?" She looked into Lauren's eyes. She wanted Lauren to speak.
Lauren sighed, "it's just me... being silly for being jealous of him." Sean was good-looking, younger than Lauren but older than Camila. He was the most famous male model at this moment. He got a lot of fans, and many were rooting for him and Camila.
"Lauren..." Camila smiled weakly, "My eyes and my heart are only for you. Trust me." She hoped it was not because Lauren did not trust her.
"Yeah... I do. I guess it's just my fear of losing you." Lauren was not sure why she felt so jealous this time. She had to figure it out. Otherwise, it would haunt her for two years ahead when the public relationship was supposed to last.
"I don't want to belong to anyone, but you." Camila leaned her forehead on Lauren's. She caressed the nape of Lauren's neck.
"thank you..." Lauren smiled gently. "does he look like someone who knows how to behave and not cross the line?" Lauren was worried since Camila told her that few of them could cross the line, hitting on her for real, trying their luck, and even kissing Camila more than they should.
"Yeah, he seems decent so far, not an asshole like some before him." Camila said, "I would put him in his place if he did not." Sean was the top-paid male model at this moment. He was at the peak of his career.
