Narrator's POV

The love was broken, but the love still stayed. The winter day was greeted by stormy grey. The day turned grey when the night was not even there. The curtains of the heart opened wide before it closed and everything was black. The unpleasant sounds were heard but not seen. The pain in the heart could not numb the pain in the body. The time was running, the dark was speeding, and the heart was silently screaming. The heart was lonely but the soul did not want to leave the body.

The old one was gone as the new one came. The winter night was colder than in the past. The night turned silent as midnight passed. The curtains to the heart were slowly closed as the red was slowly flowing out, creeping down, dominating the white linen. The pain in the heart numbed the pain in the body. The time was ticking, the red was dropping, and the heart was slowing. The heart was lonely as the soul wanted to leave the body.

Two weeks later. One heart seeing red was still beating, the other one seeing dark was missing, unknown if it was still beating. Thousands of miles apart, the two hearts were still beating for each other, but it could be from a different dimension. One was beating but lost, yearning for the other one, while the other one was missing and undiscovered. It was just unknown.

"Mani!" Dinah greeted and hugged Normani when Normani arrived at her place two weeks after the new year.

"Dinah, I missed you!" Normani hugged Dinah closer before she kissed her. They did not meet each other since Normani left Dinah's place on January 1st.

It was the new year, but they did not look fresh or good as they always did. It had been a long two weeks for them. Dinah had prepared Sunday brunch for Normani after knowing Normani would come. They settled in the dining room to have their brunch. They did not meet just for brunch but to discuss their best friends, Camila and Lauren.

"How is it? Any good news?" Dinah asked Normani.

"No." Normani, who looked sad, sighed. "It's been two weeks."

Dinah squeezed Normani's hand on the table, "we will find her soon."

"We don't have much time. They will stop the searching in five days." Normani took a deep breath. She was holding her tears every time she talked about Lauren.

"I'm thinking to break the news to Camila." Dinah visited Camila several times but she had not told Camila about Lauren.

"I'm afraid it's not a good idea." Normani doubted. "How is she doing?"

"She's getting better. She will be discharged on Wednesday." Dinah informed.

"Oh, mentally?" Normani was not sure it was a good idea to tell Camila now. Camila might physically better but not mentally. It was only two weeks since the incident.

"Not that good..." Dinah sighed.

"It's better to tell her later," Normani suggested.

"When?" Dinah frowned. Dinah thought it was good to tell Camila now that she could deal with everything at once.

"When we find Lauren, or when they stop the searching." Normani wanted to cry again.

"Mani..." Dinah rubbed Normani's back, comforting her.

"I know it's risky, but we have to tell her," Dinah said.

"What if she did it again." Normani could not imagine what Camila was going to do when she knew Lauren was gone from everyone's life, not only hers.
