Narrator's POV

Camila paid attention to Lauren's every move as Lauren walked away. Lauren took her empty glass with her. She refilled it with some water. She drank it as her mind was thinking about what Camila answered. Being in the industry for more than a decade, Camila was familiar with drama. Camila did not love it, but she was used to it. All her relationships were full of drama, or at least with some drama. She was taking her time to learn about Lauren whether Lauren was dramatic or not.

"It's not real," Camila finally said.

Lauren did not react immediately. She finished her water and looked at Camila, "I see." It was all over the news that Camila had a boyfriend, or seeing someone. Although Lauren did not know much, she knew about arranged relationships in the industry. Whether it was real or not for Camila, she just wanted to make sure it was not as it seemed so real.

"It's your birthday Lauren. Can we just enjoy the day?" Camila said again. She ran her fingers through her dark brown hair.

"Yes, we can..." Lauren and Camila looked at each other, "I just don't want to make a mistake, especially on my birthday."

"You know it's not real, don't you? Otherwise, you wouldn't look at me like that and invited me over." Camila just wondered why Lauren just mentioned it now, not when they were at the restaurant or inside the car when Lauren was flirting with her unless Lauren did not care about it. The fact was Lauren did care when she said she did not want to make a mistake.

Lauren looked down at her empty glass on the kitchen island. She walked to Camila's side. She stopped in front of Camila. "Yeah... but I have to make sure I don't do something morally wrong..." She admitted. "It's so hard to not ..."

Camila felt it again when Lauren was near her. She did not even know why she asked the reason. "Why?"Lauren lifted her right hand and touched Camila's hair, "I can't forget our kiss."

Camila's lips parted, but she said nothing but look at Lauren.

"I... want more..." Lauren said as she caressed Camila's hair and studied Camila's beautiful face. "...but then I remember you belong to someone else..."

"No..." Camila's leaned her face on Lauren's hand, enjoying her touch, "It's not real."

"So... I won't ruin someone else's relationship?" Lauren wanted to confirm before she did the next thing.

"No..." Camila said in a low voice. "Was it the reason that it took you so long to kiss me?" Camila wondered whether it was because of knowing Camila had a boyfriend, or it was just Lauren's nature, being the passive one. They had been sharing that brief look for too long. She could not help it, and she decided to urge Lauren to kiss her that day.

"Yeah..." Lauren said.

"Did you know I have a 'boyfriend' when we kissed?" Camila asked further.

"I kinda know..." Lauren did not regularly follow Camila's news. She only knew Camila jumped from one relationship to another. Camila was never single for long.

"Why did you still kiss me?" Camila frowned.

"By you asking me that way, I can't resist you further. Tell me how to not kiss you that day..." Lauren and Camila had been sharing that brief long for quite some time. She could no longer bear the attraction between them. She liked Camila for sure. It was impossible to reject Camila when Camila asked Lauren to kiss her.
