XVII: The Similarities Within Us

"I'm with the pair behind you. My name is Adoni. Forgive me for my curiosity. This is Damon, my wolf. Your residence is so beautiful."

The woman examined me thoroughly. "Chaurli doesn't just bow to anyone. You must be someone of great importance and nobility, Adoni. You also carry Hildr's talisman on your side. Your her maiden?"

I smirked. "That's a bit complicated. I never knew Valkyries 'claim' people. Who might you be?"

I watched as Kratos and Atreus carried the marked boar inside. "We will talk soon. Follow. I'll need all the help I can get. Now why did you shoot this boar of all boars?!"

"Practice," Atreus says, following Kratos.

The woman whirled her head around and eyed down Kratos. "Target practice?"

She rolled her eyes and paced, telling Kratos to set down the boar and explaining that the boar was a god in disguise. The woman made Kratos and Atreus go through her garden and get the necessary items to help solve the problem that they created. I knelt down near her. "What must you have me do?"

"I'm trying to figure out why Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, his little boy, and the Cold-Blooded Viper Goddess are in my home," she said. "Or would you prefer, the Champion of the Gods, Child of the God-Killer, Olympus' Executioner, or The Last Maiden of Sparta?"

Cold-Blooded Viper Goddess? What's with people here calling me a Viper?

"So many names. You may just call me Adoni. It seems that only people here call me a Viper. The Allfather and his Valkyries call me that. They're deities, so I'm assuming that you're Freya, or Frigg. Whichever you prefer," I replied. "Queen of Valkyries and of Asgard."

"My identity isn't your business." She quickly said. Damon eyed her and he never took her eyes off of Freya. He didn't seem to trust her, but he was being calm, simply because I was.

"Right, just as mine and my father's isn't yours?" I smirked, watching Atreus and Kratos come in.

They collected herbs in her garden. I guess some stuff to help patch up that pig god. As they spoke, I heard Kratos talk of his distrust for the gods. I sat in silence and waited for them to finish. Freya offered a honey drink and I looked at her. I didn't particularly trust her, even if she was the Queen of the Valkyries. But I need her help. I touched the talisman that Zagreus gifted me and it's glow was still gone. His charm was disconnected and he wouldn't have done that on his own.

"Witch," I said aloud, looking at her. "I need you to make me something that will put me into a deep sleep for a short period of time. If that is possible. "

She looked taken aback a bit. " It is possible. Though, I haven't used that spell on someone in a very long time, so there may be catastrophic consequences. "

"What is your reasoning Adoni?" Kratos asked, quietly.

"I need to find Zagreus. He needs to be safe before I can purge Olympus. Plus, I need to know if there's a way that I can go back so that I can save them. I don't know where the serpent is, he brought me here but Zeus threw me off course so I'm not sure where that large body of water is. But if the gods that are with me can do something from their side, that'll help greatly."

"What god were you going to contact through sleeping?" Freya asked.

"My close friend is the goddess of Nightmares, Dreams, and ghosts. But it'll be difficult getting her to answer so I'll settle for Nyx," I replied.
