The next morning, Gally had taken Thomas and tied him to a pole in front of the open maze doors. Gally was rallying all of his supporters together. It was sickening. The cheers of agreement in tossing Thomas out. Leaving him to the Grievers. But he hadn't mentioned Jay once. Even though some boys argued it was her fault as well.

Gally had always held a good amount of affection for her. Even though it was never reciprocated. All of the boys felt that way towards Jay once. Since she was the only girl in the Glade for a large amount of time until Alecks came along.

Newt and Alecks were blank faced. After hearing Thomas' plan yesterday, they held a small amount of hope. But there was one problem.

~Flash Back~

"And that's it." Thomas concluded after laying out his plan to Chuck, Alecks, and Newt. "We know boys that are on your side. I'll get them informed in a while, mate." It was plain that they were all avoiding one factor. Jay.

Timdly, Chuck started to mention the missing person. "What about J-" He was interrupted abruptly by an angered Thomas. His face looked like one of a storm. Threatening him to say something else even though it'd be silenced immediately.

"Thomas listen...I'm sorry. But she'll just be more weight to the group. More danger. She'll slow us down." Alecks whispered softly. A deep, dark part of her relished in leaving Jay behind. That girl always brought trouble wherever they went.

"We're bringing her. And that's final." Thomas' tone left no room for any possible argument. The three nodded solemnly. "Then how are we bringing her along?" Newt boiled with anger at the thought of leaving Jay behind. Not possible.

"I...Don't know..." Thomas whispered, dropping his tough guy façade for a few seconds to let his true emotions shine. Anguish was clear on his face. Like being without her pained him. "Well, if she doesn't wake up, we're leaving without her. Getting out of here is first priority." Alecks said after a while, her face blank.

"No! We aren't going without her!" Thomas hissed, Newt echoing his thoughts. "We aren't leaving her Alecks!" Chuck gulped as he watched the three teens engage in a heated argument.

The boys weren't budging. But Alecks was concerned about the group's safety.

~Present~

They hadn't decided what they were going to do yet. But Thomas knew he had to do anything to get Jay back. He was pretending to be knocked out. Unconscious for his plan to be in full effect.

The moment Gally came to undo his ropes and toss him into the maze, Thomas brought his head up and slammed his forehead against Gally's. Gally fell back with a yell as Thomas' followers jumped into action.

Thomas was quickly untied from the pole and stood to face the scowling boys that were against him. All of his friends and aids were behind him. Except for the woman that was supposed to stand by his side...Jay.....

His mind delved into their previous memories. Alecks was right. As much as it hurt, they couldn't bring her. It would risk the group's safety. He was yanked out of his thoughts when Newt spoke.

"We're not staying here under your tyranny, Gally! We'll take our chances with the Griever Hole!" He shouted, agreements coming from behind him. Gally scowled and yelled back his own response. "Fine! We'll see how good it'll do when you're dead!"

The boys all started to turn and head to the maze. "Wait.." Thomas uttered the first word in hours. "I have to say goodbye..." Sorrow filled his soft words, his voice cracking on several occasions.

Newt frowned, his face paling when he pieced the puzzle. "We can't leave her! She's coming!" Alecks took Newt's hand and squeezed it. She knew it'd be hard to leave the only girl he truly loved.

Alecks knew that she could never completely have him. There would always be a part of him that was Jay's...

"Alecks was right...We have to go... But I need to say goodbye.. Alone. Use the time to get ready and get more supplies. Just in case." Thomas' voice was stronger this time around. He had to say goodbye to the only woman he would ever love. Ever. No one could compare.

To Jay Veritas.

His walk to the infirmary was slow. He was taking the time to remember all they had done. Every word. Every hug. Every touch. Every kiss shared between them. He never truly got to say how much he loved her.

How he loved it when she smiled. How he loved it when she tried to reach his lips on her tiptoes but it would never work so he'd have to bend down a bit. How he thought she looked beautiful. Even on her worst days.

How he thought her anger was pretty sexy. How he would comfort her when she'd have nightmares. Of before the Glade. Of dead Gladers. Of her own injuries.

He would never stop loving her. No matter what it took. No one could replace her. Thomas ran his hands through his hair as he stepped into the infirmary. With a shaky sigh, he threw open the curtain to enter the room were Jay was supposed to be.

The room he'd spent so many days in. The room were he saw her. Cold. Unfeeling. Unmoving. It broke his heart that he'd be leaving the woman he cared so deeply for. Even when there was a slim chance she could wake up.

But there was something out of place. Something wrong. The usual occupied bed. It was supposed to hold her. Her comatose self.

Jay was missing.

Thomas stormed out of the infirmary, a murderous look on his face. The boys all frowned in confusion to his rage until he walked straight up to Gally and picked him up by his shirt, pinning him against the pole that still stuck from the ground.

"Where. Is. She." He growled menacingly and scowled. The Gladers just stood by in shock. Newt was the first one that figured out the source of Thomas' anger. His face contorted into one of rage. Alecks sucked in a sharp breath when the thought passed through her mind.

"W-Who?" Gally stuttered and wiggled in Thomas' grasp. "You know who. Where. Is. JAY!" Thomas roared in anger, his vision seeing red. Until a soft voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Thomas?"
