Part 2: The beginning of trouble

With a massive yawn the saiyan mother awakened from her slumber, having been alive for four years Gine had gotten accustomed to earths properties and was having the time of her life. Living with her son and grandson was a dream come true for her, and bonding with Gohan for so long the two were practically inseparable. Remembering that day she was going with her family to go meet some of her son's friends the woman stretched out and groaned, also having some things on her own agenda she got out of bed and went to get her armor on.

"Gods do I wish that I could just stay in bed, I don't feel like dealing with humans today.... But then again I gotta make sure Kakarot and Gohan don't get into any trouble, plus I got so much other shit to do today...." She groaned as she slipped into her armor, going out into the kitchen she sat down to eat breakfast.

Her sour mood was rather obvious the moment Goku met eyes with her, sitting down with her he tilted his head with her playing with the silverware bored.

"Mom? Is something wrong?" He asked with a concerned look, Gine looked up and sighed as she tried to think of a way to put it.

"I don't know Kakarot.... I love spending time with you two.... But I greatly miss your father, and yeah I know that I can't abuse Shenron for wishes.... If I did your father would be here, along with my best friend.... And no I never found them in hell, the place is too big to find anyone...." Gine said before sighing, the thoughts of her precious Bardock wouldn't stop even knowing that she would see him again.

Goku began to ponder what to say to brighten her mood, he also wanted to meet his father but since Shenron brought up his crimes it was hard to think he would bring his father back. As the two were silent Gohan walked up to the table and saw how depressed his grandmother was, overhearing what was on her mind he smiled before tapping her leg.

"Grandma, if you want we could go and see if Shenron could bring him back! I want to meet Grandpa too!" The little boy exclaimed, Gine looking over and seeing her grandson picked him up and smiled. Being in his presence always made her smile even on her saddest days, cuddling up to him she felt relief fill her soul.

She didn't know if it was her protective nature that made her smile knowing he was ok, or if it was just the fact that if he ever got hurt she'd get to fight someone. Her and Goku had training matches every day ever since she came back, but the satisfaction was very minimal as she could never bring herself to harm her son to the extent she wanted others.

Eventually finishing breakfast the three took off to Kame house, Gine held tightly onto Gohan as she flew over the vast sea wanting to be sure of his safety. Seeing all the sea life as she passed made her reminisce about how peaceful and gentle she was before her death, she was still gentle but she was far from peaceful after her trip to hell. Arriving at a little island in the middle of the sea the three landed with Gine immediately putting Gohan down, Goku walked up to the house, opened the door and peaked inside with a smile on his face.

"Hey guys you in here?! I have a few people I want you to meet!" Goku shouted, Gine looked at the house with little patience. Tapping her foot and leaning against the palm tree she waited for her son's friends to come out, a few minutes later Goku walked out with an old man, a short man and a very tall woman with blue hair. The old man immediately caught sight of Gine and smiled, chuckling it seemed that he had teleported up to her.

"My my! What is such a beautiful woman like you doing on this island, maybe the gods have sent you here for me?" Roshi chuckled before his hand slowly went up to her chest, but before he could even register what happened he yelled out in pain as she grabbed his wrist and began crushing it in her grasp.

"This is my one and only warning human! My husband is the only man who is allowed to touch me in such a manner, so if you value your limbs as well as your life you will keep your hands off me!..." The saiyan mother growled before she released her grasp, the blue haired woman's jaw was already dropped seeing the tiny woman hurt Roshi.

"U-Um.... Goku.... I hope you don't mind me asking.... But who is this woman with you? She seems very dangerous!" Bulma commented, but before Goku could respond Gine's eyes met hers in a death glare. Turning around Gine walked up to the woman and crossed her arms, not acting upon her desire to punch a hole through the woman.

"If you know Kakarot or as you earthlings call him 'Goku' as well as he claims, you very well know that he showed up on this planet with a tail.... And as you can see I have the same exact one, now tell me genius.... What does that mean?" Gine questioned with her eye brow raised, Bulma seeing the obvious parallels between the two and the way the woman was acting it was easy to figure out what was going on.

"So.... Are you his sister or something?" Bulma asked, Gine's expression went dark before she grabbed Bulma by the shirt and pulled her to eye level.

"I'M HIS MOTHER DUMBASS!! AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT, BECAUSE IF I HEAR YOU DID ANYTHING TO MY BABY I WILL RIP YOU APART!!" Gine screamed right in her face, once it was over Bulma's face was pale before she nodded her head slowly. Krillin whistled before he looked over to his much taller friend, concern on his face as Goku rubbed his head with a cheeky smile on his face.

"Wow! Your mother is nuts! I don't know what to say other than that!" Krillin said expecting the mother to freak out on him, but she simply glanced at him before walking back to Gohan. As the group talked suddenly a high power was felt by everyone, Goku and Gine looked out into the distance but Gine's expression was vastly different.

"What in the world is that?! I feel a massive power coming right towards us!!" Goku said as a figure became visible, however while Goku was concerned Gine's expression was that of excitement as she knew who this energy belonged to. The figure revealed to be a man landed in the sand with a smile on his face, and using a device on his ear he chuckled as it finalized and stopped.

"Well now would you look at that, little Kakarot didn't complete his mission and decided to make friends with the filthy vermin on this planet." The stranger said, Goku's eyes widened as he heard that name from the other's mouth. Seeing this person brought pain to his head as flashbacks began going through his mind, ignoring the pain and clenching his fists he showed no fear to this new comer, while Gine was hiding at the side of the house to listen.

"I should have known Prince Vegeta would send Raditz to get his brother, probably to go on and kill another planet for that bastard Frieza...." Gine thought as the two rambled on, Raditz shook his head and walked near her hiding spot.

"Truly I am disappointed in you Kakarot, even if you remembered your name you decided to go soft.... But alas I'm not here for that, you see both of us along with two other saiyans are the only survivors of our planets destruction.... Planet Vegeta many years ago was destroyed by a giant comet-!" Raditz said before Gine kicked the back of his head sending him to the edge of the island, rubbing his head he tried to regain his vision but it was all blurry.

"Why don't you actually ask someone who was at the receiving end of the planet's destruction, because let me tell you Raditz.... It was no comet or meteor...." She said, the moment that voice was heard Raditz had a face full of shock as he vision returned and he saw his assailant.

"M-Mother?..." The older warrior was in disbelief, both at the fact that his mother was alive and that she had just attacked him. She glared down at him as he saw the fire in her eyes, something that he never saw before.

"Allow me to correct you, and I hope that Vegeta is listening to this through that scouter.... Planet Vegeta wasn't blown up by a comet or anything similar, it was destroyed by Frieza along your father and me with it...." Gine said as she crossed her arms, Raditz was in shock before he turned to confusion.

"But if you were killed.... How are you here now?" Goku then walked up and put his hand on his mother's shoulder, still glaring at his supposed older brother before he grabbed the device off Raditz face and crushed it in his hand.

"Just to take care of that quick so whoever this Vegeta guy is doesn't hear this, I used the dragon balls to bring our mother back to life.... They are seven artifacts that once collected can be used to grant one wish, so with that knowledge I used my wish to revive her...." Goku explained as Raditz got to his feet, brushing the dirt off himself Raditz looked at the two skeptical of his younger brothers claims. But if his mother was indeed alive then he had to believe it.

"Fine, say I believe this rumor! How much could these balls revive, can they only revive one person or a whole planet?" Raditz asked, Goku then shook his head before Gine looked away into the distance.

"They can only revive one person at the time, and they can only be used once a year.... Mom wants to bring our dad back to life, but I am nervous that Shenron won't allow it...." Goku said, as that was happening on a desolate planet Vegeta's scouter went to static. Sitting on a dead body the price grunted as he turned the device off, not really caring what was happening.

"Well Nappa, I guess it's just us two! Poor Raditz won't get anything, unless he's not dead and one of the earthlings crushed his scouter...." Vegeta said as his bald cohort landed, the mustached saiyan rubbed his chin in thought before snapping his fingers.

"Well we could always go to this earth he was heading towards, plus even if he didn't die and his scouter was crushed that was before the guy he was talking to said something. Going by that it wouldn't be wrong to assume maybe the inhabitants of earth are hiding something! A secret power source, science even better than ours, a wish granting lizard summoned by artifacts!" Nappa exclaimed, Vegeta looked over to him before rolling his eyes.

"Out of the three you mentioned I find the last one the most dumb, but you have peaked my curiosity with the science since it could bring a good price to Frieza...." Vegeta said as he also scratched his chin, Nappa rolled his eyes before he turned around to head back to his ship.

"Oh please, don't act like that's not your only reason.... I know you like smart women Vegeta, I've been with you since you were a kid.... Don't act dumb with me!" The bald saiyan laughed, Vegeta growled at his cohort from the comment but he'd be foolish to say Nappa was lying.

"God damn it Nappa...." Vegeta groaned before following him, Raditz hearing about his mother's plans grew worried as his father wasn't the best saiyan to train with. But since his opinion was beat by the rest of his family he admitted defeat, after saying goodbye to his friends and dropping Gohan off at home the three went their separate ways to gather the dragon balls. Gine of course had to go with Raditz though to make sure he would do as he was told, which was odd for him.

As Goku's family searched for the seven items Maja on the unknown planet walked through the halls of the still under construction castle, having sensed her husband's energy she followed it to behind one lone door.
