Fern's POV
There was no school since its the weekend. I was eating my avocado bagel with mushrooms and sweet heart sauce. Fluffy was being her normal self. She was being lazy today. I had to carry her down the stairs. She didn't even want to move.
She loved being carried like a big baby. She really was a princess. At least the thanks I get is her best happy smile. She really does have the best smile. She learned how to smile when she was a puppy. She honestly loves being taught new tricks. I honestly had no complaints about her.
Well that much complaints. I just love Fluffy so much. As we were sitting around I wanted to take her for a walk. I grabbed her leash and got her ready to go. I locked the door behind us. We walked down the neighborhood until we got to Rhys house.
"Hey" said Rhys as he walked up to me slowly. He grabbed my hand and we walked to the torn down garden. "Isn't it weird being back here" I asked him. I knew that maybe hundreds or thousands of years ago he was happily getting married to Clove.
"It's a distant memory in another lifetime" said Rhys. We both looked at the dead garden. "Maybe you can bring this garden back to life" said Rhys as he looked at me. I smiled because I always wanted a garden of my own. "That would be nice" I told him honestly. We both knew you had to buy the property.
We watched as Fluffy was sniffing around. We we're all distracted with the garden that we didn't see Annabel and Dahlia. "Hello there" said Annabel. She walked up to us with a dark expression on her face. "You are letting Alieen die" she said to us.
"What" said me and Rhys at the same time. "She is weaker then what she was yesterday" said Annabel. "You chose her more than friends, family, and above all me" said Dahlia. "Now you will choose" said Annabel and she walked up to me. Rhys stepped in front of me for protection.
We looked at them smiling evilly. "Choose" said Annabel as she grabbed Fluffy by the neck. I heard her wince in pain. "No" I said in shock. I was so scared that I put my hands on my face. She was holding Fluffy ready for any reason to kill her.
"Tell Rhys to see Alieen or we kill this cute little puppy" said Annabel. We both looked at them not knowing what to say. "I'm choosing" I said to them. "Yes. In other words Rhys wouldn't listen to me" said Dahlia. "The time is ticking" said Annabel.
I heard the whimper that Fluffy was making. "No I will choose" I said telling them. Alieen could also be in danger too. I could save both of them. "Rhys please check Alieen" I told him. He looked at me surprised. "I'm not leaving you" he said quietly.
"Please go now. I will be here" I said as Annabel squeezed Fluffy's neck even tighter. "I will be back" he said to me. I nodded my head. Rhys put his hand on my face and studied me. "Go" I said softly. I didn't want him to leave me but he had to.
After I looked into his pure eyes Rhys had turned and ran away with his vampire speed. He was gone without a trace. "You can let her go. You guys got what you wanted" I told them as I turned around. I watched them closely because this didn't feel right.
"Look at him run" said Annabel. My eyes shifted to her immediately. "He should have been faster" said Annabel as she snapped Fluffy's neck. I dropped to my knees crying. I saw them back away from her as Annabel dropped her lifeless body on the floor.
I ran over to her as quickly as I can. I was crying and screaming. My best friend is gone. I saw her white coat stain with blood. "Smells delicious but we need human blood to feel better" said Dahlia. "Poor Alieen probably won't make it" said Annabel sadly.
"Her wearing the perfect wedding dress with church bells chiming from all around. Reminds me that I will never have that with Rhys. Sadly I did find Talon and Alieen to be so perfect for one another" said Dahlia. I held Fluffy in my arms as I was blinded by my tears. "Why" I asked them in sobs.
"You can't live for two hundred years and go bat shit crazy" said Annabel. I saw as Dahlia put her arm around her. "This is just the beginning" said Dahlia before her and Annabel disappeared. I looked around and they were gone. I cried alone as Fluffy's perfect white coat was ruined.
More blood spilled from her neck. My best friend was killed by a vampire. They warned me and I didn't listen to them. I was poring out every pound of tears I had. I was completely devastated. I stayed here grieving for the loss I had.
Nothing was making me cry harder. With a few minutes I heard Rhys from right behind me. "What happened" said Rhys as he barely got back. I was still on the floor holding Fluffy. My shirt was stained with blood. Rhys knew it wasn't mine. He quickly came and pulled me into his arms.
He kept me in his arms the whole time. I cried so much that there wasn't tears anymore. "I'm sorry@ he said to me. I couldn't even speak. I was speechless because I was so hurt. Why would they do this. I stayed there crying even more as rain started to fall.
"We should go" said Rhys. He tried to pull me by my feet. I shook my head. I couldn't leave her here. "You will get sick. Fern you are human" said Rhys. "No I won't leave her" I said not moving. Rhys stayed with me to make sure I was okay and that I wouldn't get sick. I didn't want this to be real. It couldn't be real.
