Pre-Destined: Chapter 13

*5 days later* Mila POV:
Waking up out of her bed Mila had to head to one of her last nursing classes before she could take the NCLEX exam.

Still dealing with the loss of the baby, she avoided all interaction with Makai, not wanting to face him and break the news to him.

As she called for an uber she sat around the house as her grandmother came down the stairs.

"Hey sweetie, how you holding up" her grandmother asked.

"I'm fine nana, just taking it day by day" she said exhausted with hearing the same question over and over from people.

She knew that they wanted to be there for her in her time of need but she just felt like the world was crashing down on her at the moment.

Seeing the notification that her uber was there she gave a quick goodbye to her grandmother while leaving out of the door.

"Don't push yourself to hard now baby. I love you" her nana said as she walked out of the door.

On the way to class, she received multiple texts messages from Makai asking why she was ghosting him.

Makai🧸:

Makai🧸: we ghosting now? this what we on folks😐

Makai🧸: so you gone read my shit and not respond? what's wrong mila? i thought we was good...

Ignoring the last text message he sent her, she got out of the uber and headed towards class.

Enduring a long 2 hours she walked out of the building seeing Makai propped right up in front of the school.

Trying to discreetly walk away from him, he noticed her walking and called out for her.

"Aye Mila come here real quick" he yelled out embarrassing her in front of the classmates that walked out at the same time as her.

Walking over annoyed with how loud he could be she stepped up to him with a hand on her hip replying with an attitude.

"What do you want Makai" she said while rolling her eyes.

"What I want? I want to know why you been ignoring a nigga" he replied.

"We was just good like 4 days ago and now you going ghost on me" he said staring her down as she looked away.

"Did I do sum" he mumbled looking for an answer in her eyes.

Knowing that she was wrong for how she was ignoring him, she decided to let him know what was happening.

"Makai, we need to talk" she said as she sighed, looking down on the concrete.

"Aight, come get in the car and we'll go get some food and talk it out" he said grabbing her hand leading her towards his 2021 Dodge Charger GT

As they got in his car, she avoided all contact with him while staring out the window. Wondering how she was going to explain to him that she lost their baby.

After they had gotten their food, he drove them to a secluded park so they could talk privately. As they sat down on the bench Makai had asked her what's up and what's been going on.

"So ion wanna keep asking, but what's wrong on some real shit" he said while taking a sip from his drink.

Looking up towards the sky Mila replied saying, "This gone be so hard to relive again" as her anxiety rose.
