Happy New Year guys🎉🥂
~20th December, 2021~
We were in the kitchen preparing breakfast for everyone. After last night's scene, I will be making so much effort to stay clear of Daniel and Tolu's space. That scene yesterday entered my dream last night, for the love of God why was I dreaming about Daniel and me going under, doing what we did last four years that I highly regret. I don't like Daniel, is far from my spec, not even sexually attracted to him so I did not understand the dream it got me confused and I made my decision to stay away from Tolu and her trouble.
Vic flipped the pancakes like an expert while Tana made sandwiches her specialty, I missed their food so much. They were both busy while I brought out plates and cups for usage. Sewa and Mum had gone out very early to go food shopping at Mile 12 leaving breakfast in good hands. We were talking about anything available to talk about not bothering about last night and what must not be.
"Oh, that reminds me... Congratulations Toni." Tana smiles while I look at them dumbfounded. I didn't exactly know why she was congratulating me.
"Yeahhh. It was really interesting almost went to the bank to open a new account."
"ohh." I giggle. The advert "How did you guys know about it?"
"Mummy..."
"She couldn't stop telling us how much interesting the advert was. You should have told us." Tana shakes her head.
"Your mother was so extra..." Vic stops what she is doing, pretends to pick up a phone using her fingers, and mimics Mum. "Bukola have you watched the global bank advert, that new one.. Did you know it was Tumi who directed it? Your sister did a very good job, watch it o. If you see the way everything was acted out, almost went to open a new bank." We laugh. "But she wasn't lying, I almost..."
"It was okay. They should have made it better as the dialogues were getting too much." We all turned to see Tolu standing by the deep freezer, no one heard her coming so we were in shock like we had spoken ill about her.
"Thanks for watching it anyway." I smile, not interested in any back and forth.
"What are you making?" she moves to Tana who got busy with fixing the sandwiches. "Your famous sandwich. Ohh I can't wait I will go get Daniel."
"He slept over." I didn't know when it came out.
"Any problem with that?" She eyes me, I look away instead of replying, she looks at me with her cornered eyes and walks out of the kitchen.
"Your sister is a different being," Vic says laughing.
"She's your sister too."
"Never will I be on her bad side because what." She laughs and I try to laugh it off but the pain hurts differently.
I wonder why my parents were allowing Tolu's bad behavior, Mr and Mrs Olaseni were never like this. They used to be strict about boys and dating and those stuffs girls dream about as Christian parents that they are they taught us only God's way in a strict manner. They got lenient but not to the extent of letting the fiance sleepover.
The house was filled with talks throughout breakfast, everyone was talking like we wanted to say something before the minute passed by. I looked around for a brief moment to realize how much I missed my family, it was true that whoever said that Family is everything.
"Iwo ti o ni boyfriend fe ma fun mi ni advise," Tosin says laughing, he pierced my heart with the statement, not offended but it hit me to realize how I have stayed single for five good years. The thing with Daniel was just a fling not dating. I didn't let it bother me so I laughed it out and gave him a comeback.
