"Jake Sully's son has returned!
"He's alive!"
Everyone gathered on the dock to watch the boy. When he got off the Ilu he was on, he greets the man driving the Ilu. Lo'ak turns to us and his eyes meet Ao'nung's. He contracts his face and approaches with a threatening look.
"Hey! Hey!" His father steps off the dock. "Let me see if you're hurt." Toruk Makto says, distraught, examining his son for any scratches on his body.
Lo'ak keeps his eyes on Ao'nung.
"He's fine." Sighs of relief are heard. "He must have been in a fight, he has a few scratches."
The mother runs to her son.
"May I be given the strength not to throw myself on my son and gouge his eyes out!" She hisses at her son, who bows his head.
"No." Father puts his hand on Ao'nung's shoulder. My brother kneels. "My son should never have taken him beyond the reef. He is guilty." Father grabs my brother's head with one hand to make him look at the father of the family facing him.
"Okay." Toruk Makto says as he climbs onto the dock. "Let's go home.
— No. Ao'nung had nothing to do with it." Intervenes Lo'ak. "It was my idea and Ao'nung tried to talk me out of it."
Surprised looks are turned to the equally surprised kneeling boy. I frown, trying to understand what the forest boy is doing. Mother and Father give each other a quick glance, understanding what the boy is up to. Why does he defend a boy who tried to kill him? Mother nods and Father does the same.
"Let's go." Toruk says to his family.
He greets the world and thanks them for looking for his son with him before walking away followed by his wife and son.
"Thank you. Go home and rest." Father said with a comforting smile to his people.
The Metkayina people listen to him, leaving us five. Ao'nung keeps his head down as Tsireya rubs his back trying to comfort him.
"I don't know why he defended you. If he's stupid or has values but he just saved your life." Mother grunts.
She turns and walks towards her Marui. Father does not speak, his look is simply sad, disappointed. He turns and follows Mother. Once they are out of sight, tears roll down on Ao'nung's cheeks. He gives me a sorry look. I look up at the sky, sigh and hug him and Tsireya.
"It's okay." I say, stroking his hair and rubbing Tsireya's back.
No matter how stupid his action was, I can't let my brother cry and do nothing.
"I didn't think it would go this far.
— It's okay.
— I'm sorry." His tears fall on my shoulder. "Father and Mother hate me." I hold my siblings tighter to me.

Sitting on the rocks near the rice fields, by the sea, Lo'ak tells us about his adventure.
Leaning against a palm tree, I watch the sunset while listening to the discussion between Ao'nung Roxto, Tsireya and the Sully family. The boys made up today after an arm wrestling match."I wish I could have been there." Kiri says with glitter in her eyes. "The ocean gave you a great gift believe me.
— The Tulkuns are not back until their season and they are never alone." Ao'nung said doubtfully.
