Chapter Eleven.
Elizabeth was having an amazing birthday.
She spent the morning shopping with her girls, before she was surprised with a party to see the evening out. She was told it was just a night out with the girls but she was thankful she could also spend the evening with her friends and family.
She still had her birthday tiara on her head while she partied with everyone. She was so grateful that all her friends were here to celebrate with her.
The alcohol was flowing left right and centre. Elizabeth wasn't sure how much she had drunk so far but she knew it was a lot. But she didn't care, it was her birthday.
"Why does he keep looking at you?" Trent asked the girl.
He had come from Liverpool with Olivia to see the girl and celebrate with her. He couldn't miss his best friends party.
"Who?" She hiccuped.
"Erling."
Elizabeth turned around and saw Erling stood on the other side of her flat staring at her. He looked really good tonight and Elizabeth couldn't help but be attracted to him.
"I think he likes you."
Elizabeth looked at Trent and raised an eyebrow, "No he doesn't."
"you don't look at someone for this long just to be friends." Trent smirked.
"I really don't think that is the case."
"Ask anyone in this room and they'll back me up."
Elizabeth bit the inside of her mouth, "Is it bad that I kind of like him."
Trent smiled at his best friend, "Nothing about liking him is bad Lizzy, you are allowed to feel these feelings."
"I get scared."
"And that's ok. You'll be ok."
Elizabeth nodded and sipped her drink, well more like downed her drink. It was her birthday after all.
"and liv said he gives off golden retriever energy so you'll be ok with him." Trent added, smirking slightly.
"I told her that."
Trent gave the girl a side hug and left her to be in her own thoughts. Erling still hadn't taken his eyes off the girl and when she made her way to the kitchen, he followed her.
Elizabeth poured herself another drink and took a large sip. She placed a sausage roll in her mouth as Erling joined her in the kitchen.
"Are you enjoying the party?" Erling asked the girl.
"It's great, are you having a good time?" she questioned.
Even though the music was blasting, the two could hear each other completely fine. It was almost like it wasn't an inconvenience for them to talk.
"It's a good party."
She smiled, "Thank you for my gift by the way."
"It's no trouble."
"It was very thoughtful."
Erling smiled, "Jack gave me the tip-off but I'm glad you liked it."
Erling had bought her some perfume that her mother used to buy her and a new pair of air force ones with dior detail. Jack gave him the tip-off that she wanted them so it felt right that Erling got them for her.
Elizabeth stared at the Norwegian, "Can I give you a hug?"
The words shocked Erling, he did not expect her to ask him that. He agreed and the girl wrapped her arms around his neck. She just about managed to do this thanks to her heels. Erling hugged her back almost instantly and allowed her to just melt into his arms.
"I think you are pretty."Elizabeth whispered in his ear.
"You think i'm pretty?" Erling questioned.
"Very pretty."
"I think you are pretty too."
Elizabeth pulled away and tapped his chest, "Your heart is beating fast."
Erling smiled, "Because I have a pretty girl in front of me."
Elizabeth blushed and took a large sip of her drink. The two simply stared at each other for a while, unsure of what to do or say.
Elizabeth poured herself another drink and stood in front of Erling, who hadn't taken his eyes off the small girl.
What she did next shocked him as well as her.
She kissed him.
A sweet innocent kiss.
On his lips.
Her eyes went wide and she rushed out of the room with her drink in hand before Erling could string a sentence together.
She kissed him.
He traced his fingers over his lips, still tasting her strawberry lip gloss. He couldn't believe that happened. He made his way back into the living room where the main party was to try and find her;
but she was no where to be seen.
