Elizabeth sat on her sofa staring at her best friend who was sat on the armchair. Olivia was also here to officiate the conversation. Non of them were sure how this was going to go, they all had a lot to talk about.
"Sooo." Olivia spoke up.
She felt like if she started the conversation, it would encourage the other girls to speak to each other.
"There's no need for this to be awkward." Elizabeth spoke.
"But it is though, because of what happened." Sarah spoke.
"You slept with my cousin, I'd say my actions were justified."
Sarah sighed, "Im not saying that they weren't. But we could've spoken about this days ago."
"I needed time to think it over. I only made up with John this morning." Elizabeth spoke.
The two fell silent. Elizabeth looked down at her lap and fiddled with her bracelet on her wrist. She hated this. She wanted nothing more than to just make up with Sarah, no questions asked. but they both needed to speak out their feelings, especially since there was a lot to unpack.
"I asked you months ago if something was going on between you and you said no, did you lie to me?" Elizabeth asked the girl.
Sarah stared at her fingers in her lap, "Yes, we did lie to you. We didn't want to hurt you."
"But you have though, this has hurt me. If you both were honest and had told me sooner, maybe I wouldn't have been so angry."
The room fell silent. The two girls knew this was going in the right direction but they still had so much to digest, that this could take a while.
"So you know when you kept mentioning this mysterious man, it was actually John the whole time?" Elizabeth questioned the girl.
"Yes it was him."
"Did anyone else know that it was him."
She shook her head, "No one knew."
"Is that everything that has gone on between the two of you?" She spoke.
Sarah nodded, "Yes that's everything, and I mean that."
Elizabeth nodded and stared at the girl. She had no idea what to do now.
"I should've told you sooner that I slept with John." Sarah said softly.
"And I shouldn't have been such a bitch about it."
Sarah smiled, "I suppose we both have a lot to apologise for."
"Yeah, I guess we do."
"So are you two good now?" Olivia asked.
The two girls looked at each other before smiling and hugging each other.
"Group hug!!" Olivia loudly spoke.
She joined in on the hug with her two best friends as they both laughed at her stupid antics. The group were back together, after what felt like a forever departure.
They had definitely still had a lot to talk about, there was still a lot of things that were left unsaid and definitely needs more explaining. But for now, they were fine. They were ok.
They were Best friends again.
