Chapter Thirteen.
Elizabeth was grateful for a day full of university lectures today. It had been three days since her party and her kiss with Erling. She had successfully avoided him at training the day before and she hadn't seen him at all today due to her being in Liverpool for university.
She had finally made it back to her flat in Manchester and she couldn't wait to chill out, order some food and relax. She changed into her pyjamas which consisted of an oversized man city shirt and some shorts.
She loaded up netflix on her tv and put on her comfort show, Brooklyn 99. She grabbed her Ipad off the coffee table and began to scroll down the endless restaurants available on uber eats, unsure of what to get.
A knock at her door interrupted her thoughts. She sighed and got up to answer it. She opened the door slightly and saw that all too familiar bun. She opened the door further and he turned to face her.
Erling stood in front of her with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, nervous as hell. He smiled softly at her.
"Do you want to come in?" the girl asked.
"If that's ok."
She nodded and stepped out of the way to allow him to enter. She closed the door behind him and the two awkwardly stood in the hallway facing each other.
"these are for you." Erling spoke, handing the girl the flowers.
"thank you, they are beautiful."
The two made their way into the kitchen so Elizabeth could put the flowers into some water. She grabbed her vase out of the cupboard and filled it with water. She began to cut the flowers down and place them into the vase.
"How come you weren't at training today?" Erling asked.
"I was in Liverpool for university." She spoke back.
"Do you travel up there often?"
"Only when I have a day full of lectures that I'm needed in person for."
"Oh cool."
Silence fell between the two of them and Erling focused on the girl who was arranging her flowers. He admired how careful she was being as she placed them, she definitely had an eye for perfection.
"The flowers are lovely, thank you." Elizabeth spoke.
She cleared the rubbish away and took a seat next to Erling, who was sat on one of two of her bar stools. She pushed her glasses further up her face and fiddled with her fingers.
"It's no problem. I got them for you as you deserve them, and I thought it would help ease me into what I wanted to ask you. But i'm useless." Erling rambled on.
"Is it about the kiss?"
"Yes."
Elizabeth sighed, "I was drunk, and I'm not saying that now I'm sober that I regret it because I don't. If you don't feel the same then that's completely fine, we can just forget it ever happen-."
Erling stopped the girl by placing his finger on her lips. Elizabeth stared down at his finger then back up at him.
"Drunk thoughts are sober thoughts Elizabeth." Erling softly spoke.
"I know." She practically whispered.
"And if you had stayed after that kiss, I would've happily told you what I've been dying to tell you for weeks."
"And that is?"
Erling dropped his finger and smirked, "Well you left me hanging that night so I might keep it in a little longer now."
Her mouth dropped open in shock, "Now that's not fair."
"So is leaving a man after shocking him with a kiss."
Her face blushed. She got off her stool and stood in front of him, placing her small hands on his large, and muscular shoulders, "Please tell me, I want to know."
"Kiss me again."
"What?"
"Kiss me again Elizabeth."
"You kiss me." Elizabeth confidently spoke.
Erling smiled sheepishly and cupped her face, "Don't have to tell me twice."
He softly placed his lips onto hers and they moulded into place.
It was sweet and innocent, but something both of them had longed for.
It was perfect."Does that tell you?" Erling asked the girl.
"tell me what?" Elizabeth smirked.
"That I deeply like you Elizabeth."
"Now it does."
He couldn't help but roll his eyes playfully at the girl. She giggled and fell into his body. He wasted no time in hugging her small frame tightly, though he was careful not to hurt her. She was precious after all.
"Do you have any grapes?" Erling quietly asked.
"Of course I do." Elizabeth whispered.
And that's how they spent the rest of the evening.
Cuddled together, eating grapes.
Without a care in the world.
