Chapter Two.
As part of the back-room staff, it meant you had to be constantly available and around the team, at all times. Elizabeth had been here for two days now, and she had everything sorted for when the players arrived back after international duty. She felt like she hadn't left her office she was given.
What John failed to tell her was the guy who broke his back was the head of the department which meant she was now suddenly the head of the department. It was one of her main dreams to run a medical department, so there was no time like the present.
She was extremely nervous as she knew she had to prove herself in this situation, but she thrived under pressure.
"Where is my little angel." A familiar voice shouted.
Before Elizabeth had a chance to process who it was, she was being attacked by at least four people, and she had no idea who they were.
"Please remove yourselves off me." She calmly spoke.
The four boys removed herself off her and she was able to identify who they were.
Her cousin, John.
His right-hand man, Kyle Walker.
The calves, Jack Grealish.
And the young baby daddy, Phil Foden.
"Holy shit you have grown up so much." Kyle spoke.
"You saw her last month." John laughed.
"It feels like yesterday since you were last here." Phil joked.
"Only because you've missed me so much." Elizabeth joked back.
"The cheek of you missy."
"So, we've been told that you are our head doctor for the rest of the season." Jack spoke.
"Indeed, I am, so technically your lives are in my hands."
John laughed, "well I hope you are good at your job."
"I work in a hospital, of course I am good at my job." Elizabeth spoke, rolling her eyes.
After the mini reunion with her favourite people, they finally left her alone to finish and continue preparing her work for the rest of the team.
Elizabeth was nervous to say the least.
She knew most of the team, but there was a lot of new people, and she wasn't sure how she was going to cope with it all. She was feeling overwhelmed already, but she couldn't let that show.
John had said she could stick with him if she felt uncomfortable, but she didn't want to look weird in front of everyone. Who is constantly attached to her cousin?
"Nervous?" Kyle quietly asked the girl.
"Just a little." Elizabeth spoke back.
"You are amazing at what you do, you'll be fine."
"Thank you, I'm just finding it very overwhelming at the moment."
Kyle hugged the girl's shoulders, "I know, a new environment always is. But all of us here have your back so you'll be ok."
She nodded and thanked him for his kind words. The only way she was going to get through this is if she dealt with it her way. She had to learn to cope without relying on others and there was no time like the present.
